Well it looks like the weather has stabilised and we are aiming for round Three of the Summer slalom Series this weekend at Wynnum. It has been a number of weeks between drinks - so put away your wave sails and lets see who is ready for some full on slalom racing.

As usual the sign on is 12.30 - 1.00pm with racing at 2pm. You can see the Notice of Race at www.baysidesailboards.com.au

With the restructure of the classes, we are expecting some excellent match ups. So if you are keen to race, or if you are interested in seeing what it is all about come and join the rookie fleet. Nothing like 30 + sailors flying down the course together - until you get to the gybe mark that is[}:)].

The windsurfing gods lived up to their cruel reputation today. Have my first official 2 day leave pass this weekend and as usual the wind was nowhere to be seen. Hope we get better wind tomorrow!

The charts seem to report 10-15 knots in the bay today and i can tell you it was more like 5-10 tops. big difference!

Simon tells me its a good idea to clean the house when you do get a leave pass, so maybe this will square me up with 1. wife and 2. wind gods

BOM is saying SE change this arvo with 20 knots of breeze. Lets hope this is the case. Yet to find out how Wynnum will go in a SE but if there is 20 knots it will make getting to wherever the course is a lot easier. Can't wait to try out the 6.5 maui, it hasn't been wet yet.

Well, no racing but thanks for the sausage sizzle and the drinks Bayside. Thanks also for delivering some awesome bump and jump action after the racing was called off. Was a lot of fun seeing half the guys out there trying to hold onto their race gear in gusts of over 30knots.

Well alas the gods of wind continue to toy with our competitive spirits. By 2pm the committee made the unenviable task of having to abandon the racing due to insufficient wind. We thank all the guys and girls that turned up, even on such a dubious forecast. It was nice to have 20 or so sailors attend, and enjoy a sausage and a drink.

The forecast did hold true and we saw a southerly change arrive at about 3.30. As crazy as it seems, it would have been almost carnage to have attempted to race in those conditions anyway. A number of guys headed out on Bump and Jump gear, whilst those vehicular challenged (no trailer or van = only brought big slalom gear) ventured forth into what was rapidly going from 20 to 25 to 30 knots. At this point fair to say Brad screwed on the big brass ones and went out on a 7.0m TR4 with his carbon art - and rumor has it he peaked at 40knots. Tribey followed with his 6.8 Ram but the poor fellow only had his falcon 105, and soon realized the hovering above the water, could very well lead to a rather abrupt finish, that and his brass ones were much smaller than brads.

Now the much hyped showdown between Bart and Chris did not eventuate, mush to the disappointment of the rest of us. Whilst bart went full slalom chris was seen entering the water on a 5.0 ezzy. Some say that had Chris not sat on a bull ant's nest 30 min earlier and let them feast upon is bollocks it very well may have been a different story.

For a non-event day it turned out to be a great sail with mates. Great to see the baillie boys going hard, will definitely have to keep our eyes on luke. And poor Scotty, what can you say, did you enjoy your swim. I think you were the only one to have a gear failure - but good ole club pres to the rescue, a new mas base and away he went. The bill will be in the mail

Again our thanks to those who support the club, our volunteers and members.

When a forum post involves my bollocks, it would seem rude not to get involved..

Any chance of a race on the 21st December? they should have grown back by then
