images arnt that great ,rather be sailing, run in grab camera take a few ,run back to sail, changed sails 3 x this day.
One of those pics is of me this year. The Green board with the orange-ish NP sail with the JP sticker on it.
It was in early March, on the trip I have mentioned a few times.
The wind was great.
I should have been on a smaller sail. That's a 5.8. I eventually changed down to a 5.0 and was still over-powered a times. I could easily have used a 4.5.
It is a great place to sail and all the old-timers will have been there. There is still a big turn-out every Easter.
You would love it HC, and Swoosh too. Great flat water and chop, as well as large peaky waves out front and strong wind.
We should organise a road-trip next year on a good forecast. It's an easy weekend trip.
There is a nice caravan park right there at the river mouth.
Looks like an awesome day wongi, I had one of the best sails of my life there a few years back, crystal clear 25 knots and waves breaking port and starboard as they wrapped around the sandbar. You could crank up on the water sheltered by the bar and then hit the ramps at 20knots for some long high floaters.
Magic....
There is a camping ground right next to the water also and I can't wait until the stars align and I can get there for an Easter Weekend. I have been trying for a number of years now but something always comes up to stop me getting there. It will happen.
