Where all in the MBM (4 of us). You can start your own team if you like, just need 2 sailors.

Excellent , Dylan welcome us to join Windwanderers club and then we could post our Gold Coast data.

Bad news , My GPS get fried today. Smoke , buzzing sounds - all that when get into the car already.
And it was completely dry so that in not a water issue.
Beside broken boom then second lost today

Hi Tony, we could just join your team if that is not a problem ?
The matter is that we are on Gold Coast and willing to participate
unless obviously my or anybody results could be unsatisfactory and drag the time average down
IMHO the bigger team the better but I am just newbie so don't know much yet

Hi Geogeo

I don't really know how it exactly works but I'm in as well. Will have to do some reading what's involved. I suppose to take GPS with me would be a good start.

Your still a step ahead of me, you can still go sailing, I'm in the middle of west Africa and haven't even seen a body of water big enough to swim in let alone sail for weeks. I need some saltwater on my skin before I dry out.

When are you planning to come back ?
Or you already choose nice wife or two and planning to settle there in Africa with bunch of nice kids.
Late in the evening you could later tell your kids story about country surrounded by water not by dry sand

Now when I know eventually how it works ( GPS) and software to operate, device is damaged.
Anyway my plan is :
We could create new team Kurt , you, Jas71 ( if want to) anybody else also welcome to join.
We choose captain - say Kurt
Then we can start posting our daily records to the websites and compare ourselves to others results.
MBM is way ahead of us, with the best riders in the country and GSP speed results ( they don't need us I am afraid) , so we could start modestly.

To avoid confusion I propose to call our team Gold Coast Speed Team ( GCST).
any other suggestions welcome.

Next plan will be get the right session at the Train so everybody from our team could beat 30 ktn mark

I improved on KFC today but only a bit as wind only about 20 ktn.
But George post his records , more then 40 ktn at Shearwater 19- Oct !!!
but on closer inspection it looks that record speed was achieved on way home through the city streets

That's exactly what happened. I forgot to switch GPS off and when I tried to load it I came up with all these unrealistic numbers.

Geo you can get a program like RealSpeed (Aussie) and split your GPS file where you finished sailing then post that
http://www.intellimass.com/RealSpeed/Index.htm

Good to see a new team in the making

It will be very interesting if any program could load GPS data from two or more competitors and the play back their position during the race at 2x, 5x , 10x the speed. Then from there just a small step to get animated avatar , then Google Earth overlay, and real race could be virtually revived and enjoyed.

Have a look at GPS Action Replay

gpsactionreplay.free.fr/

We used to use it for Formula racing, where we all start at the same time. Looks like they have google earth overlay now.

Yes, I'll look at that. I didn't have a chance to find out yet which program to actually purchase but it looks like the RealSpeed is the most used one or am I wrong? I've tried the 30 days free version of GPSResultsV6 and that's how I've got my nonsense results posted without realising it goes public.

They've all got their good points, I don't need anything to split the atom and find Realspeed does what I want. It's an Aussie product by Mal Wright, good enough for me
