Have you got weather forecast already ?
Could be good time to invest in new sail and start practicing already
If there is still access available to records of last year competition ? It will be interesting to see what was the
most successful board and sail combination by then ( obviously the most important still remains skills but wrong equipment may ruin everything also)
Awesome, can't wait. I hope we have as much wind as last time. That race was full on. Are you combining that event with the waterloo cup Hooray?
This post was to let everyone know that preparations are underway for this years events and to give time for visitors to plan ahead.
If you are not a member of a windsurfing club, now is the time to join.
As per previous marathons, iCarbon (Pat) is the man in charge and he will be posting a new topic soon to cover the event.
Cool Hooray ! I will be back by then. More "pissfit" than "racefit" thou.....
(currently at Keppel slowing making my way back to Brissie)
Preliminary weather forecast very encouraging. There will be windy .
Does anybody remember what was wind speed and exact direction last year ( in ktn ) ?
Not sure if marathon is going ahead but if there is wind Bay side will definitely be running racing at Wynnum
The preliminary date for holding the Waterloo Bay Cup at RQYS of Sunday 10 November 2013 does not suit. The club will be tied up running school dingy racing on that day. The new proposed date to conduct the Waterloo Bay Cup in marathon slalom format at RQYS is Sunday 8 December 2013.
Best head to Bayside slalom event this Sunday!
Thanks for the update iCarbon. Nice high tide that day and hopefully a SE like the last event.
Looks like a big Northerly for Sunday, Hooray.
Why plan this on a date that slalom racing is already organised at wynnum
The bay side race we been canned to accommodate the green island marathon (same group of sailors , plus more hopefully)
Thanks will do slalom but to far to go to green island.
Hope the wind blows and you have a great day.
Please let me know what the new date of the slalom is hopefully the next weekend after green island

I think you are misunderstanding. The race to Green Island is in the bay where Bayside Racing happens. Same place.
Cheers
Marty
More good news!!!! Two times winner of the Waterloo Bay Cup, Brad Anderson will be giving a talk on his resent trip to Luderitz and Lake George.
For out of town competitors who wish to make a weekend of it, you will be able to camp at RQYS or stay at the RQYS Motel. There will also be a Saturday night BBQ for out of town sailors just up the hill from the yacht club.
I feel like a goose I thought u were talking green islan cains
How much to enter I already have insurance and am a member of a club

Huge free for all party at your place Hooray ? With Gallons of Limoncello for everybody ???...
Awesome, am really looking forward to this event. The last one was great, a real challenge and a great venue to sail out of. The bundies after were also most appreciated after the race.
I must have done something wrong in my previous windsurfer's life...
First date was during my exams and now I will be in New Caledonia at the same time and I'm going to miss a barbecue as well
