Turned up to Manly for the race meet to an empty car park! Guess I must have missed something along the way. There was a couple of others there as well, guessing everybody's gone to wello in the westerly, the arvo was ticking away so rigged up and had a great time, yeah, a bit gusty but not too nasty, good flat water just by the rock wall of the harbour and heading down to Lota Creek (i think thats what it is) Good day out!
Is this Brad who sails at the Gold Coast with a carbon fetish and a fear of Barbers?
If so well worth the trip nobody had a good sail on the coast, i went seaworld side.......nothing at 11am got to wello 12.15 on the water fully over powered on 6.7, nice dirty water......great wind, car park chokker
never seen so many turtles nice to know the bay is healthy and well, is it just me or are there plenty around....anyone????
Maybe some day Julien will be fast enough to get ahead of you Ray .
Racing was cancelled due to safety concerns due to strong gusty off shore wind. If anyone had broken something they would of ended up at Moreton Island !!With only one start/rescue boat, racing would have come to a grinding halt.. Most went to Wello where it was full on bump and jump on one side of the sand spit, and flat water speed city on the other side.
Sausage, I wasn't launching, that was my gybe.
Richie, Julian will never be faster than me on my camera.
The race committe did the right thing by cancelling racing, the wind was up and down all afternoon.
Thanks to Belinda for the great pics!
It was a nice day with some decent breeze at last
Next time, we should organize an unofficial mega downwind with few marks to jibe from Manly to Wello (don't mind about the return...).
