Hi All,
I have been working on joining the Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation (QORF) on behalf of Windsurfing Queensland.
QORF is a Queensland Government initiative to get more Queenslanders active through outdoor sports and recreation. You can find out more through this link. http://www.qorf.org.au/default.asp
The objective of associating WQ with QORF would be to utilise their resources in order to help promote the sport of Windsurfing through their networks and connections with other like industries. They can also help us to access Government funding to help promote the sport and perhaps even provide equipment or infrastructure, this is hugely important given that WQ does not generate any income and can't really afford to do this by ourselves.
The manager at QORF has offered me some assistance in the development of a video segment for use in promoting the sport and this brings me to the reason for the post. I am looking for exciting or interesting footage of windsurfing that a lot of us now have through the use of GoPro cameras. The idea is to promote the various fun aspects of our sport in a short promotional clip we can use in various formats, hopefully even getting some TV coverage if possible.
If you have any footage you think would be useful please PM me so I can gauge if the content will be sufficient to take up the offer.
Regards, Scot Farley (President Windsurfing Queensland)
Hi Scot,
Some links you may find interesting
QLD windsurfing should get together and hire Col from Windsurf Australia to film the Green Island Nationals. With the footage he'll get you'll be able to promote it in Kazakhstan
old ones....archaic pre go-pro days
wello
my comp & iph are show everyone's utube vids as just a black blank screen is anyone else seeing that?
Now showing on my iph but not the desktop
That last clips is awesome Haircut. You make windsurfing look easy, even all the twisty turny stuff.
you say the loveliest things Scot
Never made a shearwater vid, so here's one i've stuck together using older clips i forgot i even had, and a few from yesterday at the very end
A short bit of footage from Wello late in the day today. I tried to shoot it by hand so it's all a bit wobbly.
It's using the canon RAW hack and some of it is effectively shot at 1800mm - which makes Wello look like it's in the middle of a refinery and makes Phil look like he's sailing right over to the port of Brisbane.
Bit of an old thread now but if you're still looking for footage this was from the shearwater last week
