Best of luck to all those going south to Hawks Nest for the Raceboard Nationals- hope our QLD sailors have favourable conditions and do well in the racing. I know of a few heading down- does anyone know how many/ who from up here are doing the event? Those I know of are Brendan, Tony and Simon- anyone else?
As far as I know Leo sharpe, Julie Fyfe, Simon Fyfe, Jamie Metcher, John Scott , Brendem Moore and Tony Matta.
Cam and Jake. All kinds of assorted O'Briens and Baillies doing Techno and RSX related stuff. There's also this Sean guy who's alright, although he hasn't stepped up to raceboard yet...
...good god don't tempt him.
Thanks very much for the well wishes Paul ...and for the masterclass coaching!
I've set up camp at jimmy's beach camping grounds and checked out the course racing area in an afternoon sail (8 to 10 kts). Beautiful clean water, NO JELLIES, however a ground swell coming through the heads makes sailing interesting. A couple of other sailors have arrived early to also check out the local conditions. Forecast wind for the regatta is 15+kts on Saturday, 20+kts on Sunday and 30+ on Monday. It going to be epic.
Update had 4 races 18 to 25 knots maxed out
Leo is winning overall ,I'm coimg 4th then de vecta close behind ,not sure on other places, supposed to be winder tomorrow
Day 2- how did our local guys go? If our Queenslanders are doing this well without a really strong, structured race program, think how well they could do with if there was some solid structure to really hone their race skills and tactics.
Awesome guys, where are you placed Simon and did Julie compete?? PS: Leo did you even do any training for this? Well done mate regardless.
Have a bundy for me guys, it's well deserved. You guys were well missed today at Manly, it was awesome.
