............You all winge and bitch about everone out there having a bit of fun, then go crash into them.
NixoNs ------- Is that an educated guess (An educated guess is a guess based on evidence or knowledge you already have.)?
Thanks for that post Tonyd.
$500.00 seems like an incredibly light fine given the potentially life threatening nature of the incident. I think Mr Gohr's smug look of relief in his photo tells it all.

The message is when windsurfing always give way to everything, especially jet-skis, even though you (usually) have the right of way.
Other day I was coming across the broadwater and on a collision course with a jet-ski. There was plenty of time to avoid any accident but I thought I'd continue on anyway to see what happens. The guy and passenger would have to alter course like 2 degrees to go behind me. No prizes for guessing who had to stop to let the other pass. I've done this a few times and they just look at you as they pass, expressionless.
Where do they get their licences?

Serious problem indeed! I've noticed when sailing at gold coast they don't seem to consider the crafts around them.... obviously an experience issue....
question is, can we do anything about it?
I note the girl who runs the jetski school from the train has some campaign going to stop all day parking in that cul de sac, i suspect she may well get her way and we will be screwed for parking more than two hours.....................personally i have always found her customers part of the problem and her parking on the grass is surely some sort of vialation
If these guys are "under tuition" surely the "teacher" has some responsibility, i am very sure this isnt the end of the matter and Linda will act against the company, sure as hell i would.
True Ken, I bypass the train, looking at how many boats are parked there, water traffic etc, just looks too busy, a very changed environment thats for sure. Shame. Miss the ripple blast along the bank in a southerly.
By not going it just allows the others to move in, keep going to the train and be vocal, if i ran everytime i didnt like something i would be running all my life.
I just find it a bit cramped, with short runs. I prefer the fat chick on a southerly, and the hot chick on a northerly. Actually, the fat chick is growing on me a bit. I've had some good sessions there this year. Just not on a weekend.
If you think anyone but everyone bears the cost, yer loony. Follow the paper, and there will be an insurance under-writer eventually.
We all contribute in the end, regardless of who writes the cheque.
Last time I sailed there was great. Got the car park under the tree, got lots of strange looks from the "MAFF" I was the only one there.
Its a BIG circle of crime underground all about pleasing the customer, getting smashed, high power water craft etc, red light. Welcome to the gold coast! Thanks for coming!
Another piece of craft we shouldn't forget is the JETBOATS. I have seen them go very close to fellow windsurfers.
....and that f@#k%^g duck (although it almost ran straight over me on the road in Surfers P!!), lucky it's slow in the water, haha.
I don't think that we should be dishartened by sailing at the train at all. At the end of the day, we have just as much right to be there as jetskis, boats, water skis, park people etc.
p.s. Hope Linda is recovering quickly and wish her a speedy recovery
It is something, I like the competency training but feel the two year period to fit limiters is a bit soft. This is a lot of time in which a similar issue could arrise.
Did i hear the guy who ran the swan over got a $10k fine(news last night) this guy got $500, ok i know there is a diffrence but........................
Anybody see Jetski surfaris fool proof training setup on The Great South East (channel 7) last night. What a ****ing joke.
