Hi guys,

I was just wondering what i should do about a newly spotted hairline crack which seems to be getting slightly bigger/longer. It is towards the middle of the board, left hand underside. The board is a Starboard 133 Carve. Any suggestions about repair and costs?

Thanks,

Anton

It may just be the magnification but that looks like more than just a hairline... You don't want to get water inside the board.

Agree, that's not hair-line, more like a full on dread lock. Don't get it wet, if there is any water in it wash it thoroughly with fresh water. Once dry, get online and have a look at how to do an epoxy repair or pay someone to fix it.

take it to caloundra wind and surf. no-one has more experience in qld then peter at fixing boards. plus he has the gear including vacuums.

as the others have said, don't get it wet. the problem with leaks in boards is the salt water can crytalize in the foam and then it's never coming out. really you need to vacuum or stand the board against a wall to get all of the water out as soon as it happens.

yep,

pete had his shop near moffats beach and his factory in landsborough. he moved the shop to the factory in landsborough. has a big shed there now which he has been fitting out along with new sanding, glassing & painting rooms.

it's not quite fully finished but looks great.

he's still in caloundra whenever it's windy and plus picks up surfboards and windsurfers from other businesses to repair so you could meet him in caloundra i'm sure. i'd go direct.
