guys,
looking to head up the lake over easter and wondering if open fires are allowed?
used to be a long time back but i haven't camped there for ages.
Boreen Point camping ground only allow fires in their fireplaces which are metal above ground barbecues
Cheers

Looking forward to Easter and school holidays on the water at Cootharaba
Lucky for some, I will be out in the middle of nowhere at Jondaryan. Hoping for a bit of wind before we head out on Thursday.
thanks guys, very keen to go to the wanderers up there. not sure if for a day trip or a camp.
i guess i'll see everyone there
it's still a fair way out but does look like some wind around.
i'm good either way. got the sup which can also be windsurfed. might head to north shore for a day also.
I didn't want to start a new thread on it,but I am going to Hervey Bay for a few days over Easter, never been there before.
Where would be a good spot to sail for a beginner/intermediate? Any ideas fellas?
Cheers,
Bleary.
Trying up cooloothin creek mate? We got a decent few Bream up there around September last year just on prawns haha. Might be dropping in the sailing boats and competing in the lake regatta! It's been a while but just no too keen on bobbing around on with the 8m and not planing haha.
Hopeless today. 8 knot NE and it was on and off. 8 knot SE just came in about 30 minutes ago but I don't think its going to build to much. Will keep you updated
Used the sups yesterday with 5.8m.
Change came through last night probably 12 knots or so. Lighter early morning conditions now. We are all ready to go today.
Maybe seabreeze tomorrow. Maybe not
monster red claw.... i wouldn't tell anyone. moz is a pretty good hand at cooking em up also..
lake was light but awesome! first family camping trip.
wife has gone from zero love of camping to 50% like of camping. planning the next trip already.
9 year old daughter did her first s turns on a windsurfer and was out supping at the crack of dawn every day.
7 year old daughter now loves supping, had her first real windsurfing lesson but didn't like the clothes she was asked to wear home.
4 year old son had a revelation. reckons he didn't know camping was that much fun and is now hooked on windsurfing and the idea "there is no deep end at the lake". spent every second of the day, canoeing, supping, swimming and windsurfing. was also stoked to see a sup paddle with his name on it. guess i'll have to get him some naish gear and rub out the i
weather was excellent. bit of rain last night but all said and done had a blast. i got out on the sup both with paddle and a 5.8, had a quick night sup and spent most of yesterday teaching the kids to windsurf.
good to catch up with everyone up there including some i haven't seen in a few years.
cheers to kellie and dylan and the windwanderers.
