Where the wind is good, the waves are big, the sailors are awesome and the girls are pretty.

I am going up to Caloundra today (Sat) for the demo day after lunch, tomorrow either Beachmere early or SW with the run out tide.

Ian, Queens beach isn't that good. There is bugger all wind, no waves and definately no car parks. It is horrible at Queens. The last place you would want to windsurf

There is a Demo day at Caloundra Sat and Sun this weekend. Sunday will be the better day for wind.
The Neil Pryde Trailer is there with NP sails rigged and ready to go and a huge selection of JP boards to try out.

Oh man! Did I say Queen's? I meant VP, or Wello of course. They're the quality spots. Sh!t no, Queen's is a dump. Polluted, hard to get to, and dangerous. Probably get your car trashed too - the locals are very unfriendly and don't take kindly to "out-of-towners".

No way I would recommend anyone went there.

Definitely wouldn't go to VP.......
Muddy, shallow, uglies, poor w/surfers, sharks, rays, stonefish, etc. etc.
Recommend Queens and anywhere else.
Honest!!

yeah definitely brighton and sandgate, that's kite heaven...... cross shore launch, plenty of sand to keep the crew away from rokcs etc.

VP is down right dangerous for kiting.

it's dead onshore wind with a small launch area and powerlines, trees and concrete and timber walls at the shoreline.

i've seen so many kiters get into trouble launching and landing, they never bother going back there after that.

actually bay st at redland bay is excellent for kiting, leaves victoria point for dead.

has plenty of parking, is a cross shore launch and a nice sand beach to pump up the kites. a few of the local kiters go there,

everyone that's sailed queens knows that there is a healthy number of kiters there.

i always thought that was because of it's name.
