The latest from the LuvMuss stable, a 113 litre Slalom board.
Build by Stuart Truscott of Cheeky Monkey using his NC machine, cut straight from my CAD file.
236X70, full carbon. Carbon T stringer along the bottom.
V right trough with a subtle double concave.
Here,s hoping I get it wet this weekend.
Decision on final material specs in a few days, Jesper testing at the moment. We built samples in a few different materials. This one has PX05 1.5Mil in the top panels and C1431 2Mil in the luff sleeve.
The purple actually looks really good in the flesh, goes a bit pink in photographs. Works really well with the black. Noteverybody's cup of tea for sure but I like it.
Hanging to try the board!!!! May be too windy for it this weekend though. We will see.
Fredstyles also just finished a bigger one I designed for him, photo's on another thread. Looks like he did a great job. The muscles are multiplying!!!

P.S board looks fantastic mate
Cheers Russ
It rocks!!!!!
The trial run today in dodgy conditions at Green Point with a bagged out for power 7.5 Koncept and C3 Venom 42. It felt absolutely great from the first seconds. Super efficient, just poped onto the plane and went. I am really pleased.
There was a funny hissing sound coming from it at speed and some examination found a short section of the release edge at one cutouts had a slighty raised corner, reckon thats what it was, had me stuffed for a while what it could have been.
The construction is really stiff and it feels super solid under the foot. The V just ate the short notherly chop and it was very easy and well balanced.
Considering I was never really powerd up I am pretty happy with 27 knot speeds, it can go way faster.
Can't wait for a proper shakedown in good conditions, I am very happy.
Finally enough wind to give it a reasonable shakedown. It works great. Pops on the plane with little effort and accellerates like a bullet.
It,s super comfortable through the chop and very, very fast. Keen to get it on some half flat water to see what it will do.
I am going to have to muck around with fins to get the best out of it though. My superb KA Slalom 37 is too small for it. I used a Venom 42 which was good but doesn't feel as slippery as the KA, board felt a bit stiff with it in and it let go a few times.
Overall the board is great and I am going to have alot of fun on it this summer, but I can always do better. The next one !!!!!
great looking board very cool looking sail maybe we have to start thinking about selling Kas this year too......:) on the board theme though have you tried it in a 8,6? are the boards for sale or just made for friends?
thanks for the reply

Hi Thomas, The boards are just a bit of fun for me. I am an Industrial Designer who,s professional career is more project management nowadays so I get my creative juices flowing on board designs and the help I give KA.
I am more than happy to design a board for you if you have custom builder who can make it.
The 2012 KA Race is working great. My sails are early prototypes and the production sails are a bit different to these and Jesper is all smiles about how they perform. I am waiting for mine to arrive.
I finally got to use the board in the conditions it was designed for,18 knots with a nasty Port Phillip Bay chop. I am very pleased with how it went.
First it is very fast, I hadn't sailed for a month and a bit out of shape, I found myself slowing it down, I was getting scared!!!!. It fly,s through the chop, not phased by it at all which I am super happy with as that was one of my main crtierias. Very easy to gybe and fast through the carve.
It is really pleasing to me that every board I design I think is better than the last one, always learning stuff from each board. All good fun.
My only negative is that I think I may have gone overboard with the construction, it is so, so stiff. I wonder if there is any carbon left in Australia!!!
The KaRace 6.3 was great as well. This sail is a PP prototype and has some different materials than the production sails and the luff round is a bit different having about 20mm more. It felt surprisingly light in the hands for a full blown race sail and very powerful. As I said I was trying to slow the board down, so the sail is obviously fast, it felt very slippery. I am really keen to get it to Sandy Point on the speed board and see what it can do.
Thanks Keef

Cool Stuart, Did you get to use it???
Whats the 118, different board to mine and the one you just did for yourself?
used it on Saturday and love it!
I had about an hour's sail with a 7.6 so smooth and gybes like a dream, you did a better top speed I hit 25knots. (to unfit to sail any longer).
the 118 is my designs, it was one of the first boards to come off the machine and to clear space decided to finish it off (236x66cm). Only have a wave board to finish now!
The 118 looks like a nice shape Stuart
Glad you like the design. Works really well in the Bay chop which was my main objective with this design. Having sailed on Botany Bay a few times with that very steep short chop I reckon it will work a treat there as well.
