THE bom site has a really good forecast by the looks, I don't normally sail at middleton but are really keen for a sail there saturday morning.

Could someone how sails there regually give us a little guidence if the direction looks good?

Just do it - I'm sure there be plenty of crew - just don't do it too early and be prepared to hang a around and wait for it to swing nww - it can turn on and off pretty quick take your surfboards, big sail board, small board, beer, food, hanglider, scuba gear, fishing rods and you'll get some sort of action

Been sailing there for coupla years now. NW'ly best direction - side off. Recently been sailing when more N'ly and W'ly. Also good. When more N'ly is harder to get out - big wind shadow behind the waves, usually less wind but really glassy more surfing style waves. You can pick up a wave off the point and ride back to carpark at Day St. When W'ly lots of lumpy waves and super easy to get out - nice jumping conditions. Last Sat and Sun week ago were good - HI had 21 knots ave gusting 36 knots (beware reads high). Today - late morning should be good. Goolwa can also be good - especially if swell too small at M'ton (expect today). I think its prime time is mid-winter - we're definitely in shoulder season now. Have fun - make the most of it and watch out for the surfers - heaps recently!

Day street was hard work yesterday - small waves and 25plus knot gusts with board sinking lulls - at one stage was 30+ and reports were they were getting blown away on small gear - then came and went all afternoon - dead offshore -hard to catch waves unless your almost planing and easy to get blown off the top.

Despite all that there was some good waves to be had - felt like I'd earnt a cold beer or two after a couple of hours. definately hard work - a dozen on the water at times though - I think someone posted a few piccies on the photo section

Maybe you should have trecked down this morning to Goolwa / Day st? Was worth the effort.

I went down nice and early saturday morning to middleton, as you guys say it was certainly gusty. Had a great time while my arms lasted, some of the guys changed down sails three times it just kept building in the morning, some more swell would of been ace but beggers can't be choosers!!!!

See you all down there next Northerly blow!!!

Great to see the photos of the day too. Cheers
