Looks promising for a sail on Saturday. What are peoples' thoughts on location?? I'm thinking Bell Bouy but I can only imagine it will be flat... Might be a good day for those keen to introduce themselves to very small wave sailing. Johnny?? Ben??

Probably good from 1pm till about dark!!

Sorry guys I'm out this weekend.

Still mastless too, I need to do something about that before the westerlies come in...

I am interested in an ocean sail on a small day.
Looking forward to getting on the water after too many days without any wind.
Text us if you go Ben.

Looks like there is a few sailing Greens tomorrow. The westerly change is not due till late and there Greens works well in the north westerly.

Greens Beach, also a great place to get into wave sailing ,
go at low tide and only knee deep either end of break .Waves never get too
big , always soo user friendly.

Ben, I'll be very disappointed if you don't give it a go. I'll be with you in spirit. If the lunch is as boring as I think it will be I'll have quite a few spirits.

I gave East Beach a go on the old long board and learnt 2 things.
1. You really should be able to water start when in the ocean. I CAN'T!
2. The waves break your gear
Hey, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Cheers

Drove around Low Head for 2 hours looking at Bell Buoy, East and Lagoon... Couldnt find any wind. Bailed to Rosevears and had 2 great hours sailing with darkness setting in with the wind still pumping.

How did you go Al? readings well over 30 knots at Low head... after I left

Did get very windy on the coast Ben. Scared my self on the 74ltr with a 4.5, and gusty winds over 30 knots. Bit spooky sailing after sunset in high wind conditions. Al , Chris , Adam , Embo , and James, sailed till it got dark... We need to invest in some night vision googles to find the gear at the end of the sailing session.

Was a good sail at greens. Wind didn't come in til 4 or so but when it did you knew about it. Felt like sailing down south. Most of the time looking out at the water wondering where the wind is. Then out of nowhere crazy overpowered! Fair crew about again. Houston there has to be one good thing about living up this way!

Good stuff Gil, was much of the same at rosevears, but only 25 knots.. sailing a bit longer than maybe should have and after packing up Geoff busted out the LED lights to make sure nothing was left behind...

I headed to Bell Bouy around 3.30 expecting someone else, but it was just me and about 15 knots. Rigged the 6.6 on the raceboard for some ocean runs. The first 15 minutes was managable then it went beserk. At least being onshore the worst that can happen is you get blown in to the beach (hopefully one of the sandy bits).
Hey Old Man Steve, we can head out on the longboards some time and I'll show you how to waterstart. You must have been at East Beach before I got there.

Hi Clarence
That would be absolutely awesome. I left East around 1.30. The kids wanted some lunch. I don't know why. I was fine I am having one of the Windsurfing Tas 'learner' boards over the school holidays. Hoping to get my daughter started and progress a little myself.
Cheers
OM Steve.

This summer I bought a Starboard Start myeslf (probably the same as the windsurf Tas "learner" model that you have). Great to teach on and surpringly fun when the wind is up. I had mine out in the surf at Stanley a few weeks back in 20+ knots, running from town across to the east inlet. Handled the 2 to 4 foot waves and rough ocean beautifully.

You probably had some good conditions at East Beach at that time of day. Great spot to sail I reckon.

I'll PM you with my number to tee up a time.

Clarence
