It has been decided, this Sunday ( yes bring your mum for a free pie!) will be on at Clifton.
There WILL be an wavesailing expression session at Clifton beach ( another southern beach will be chosen if wind direction is more favourable).
There WILL be prizes that will be presented at Houstons bbq the following Saturday evening.
Everyone welcome to paticipate as it is only a social sail that we will call an expression session.
Judging will be done by the sailors on the water and the mothers left at home alone!! , ha ha, no those on shore watching.
catagories include : most improved., best wipeout, going hard!!!, best air and waveriding.
all welcome , dont forget to bring your mum!!!
TIME: let you decide? id say 1pm but what do others think?.
Is anyone planning a sail this weekend up the north of the state? The expression session down south is making me sad :(
I'm not sure if my mum is happy about expressing on the beach, although she used to breast feed in public, but thats more natural and accepted by society.
Grevil, forecast up north doesn't look that good.....hope you get a sail.....you guys have got to get out into the waves...the beaches up north crap all over what we have to put up with down here....Al and Jason often hit the sweet spot at Bell Bouys and East Beach.... have a good one
My mum who would be 96years old will be there in spirit and if she was still around would be cranking it in the waves and pulling off a few loops, she was a pretty cool mum so if I win the biggest wipeout.........that's about all I've ever won, I will dedicate it to her
Hate to say it Iceman, if she could pull off a loop she would be better than me .......but it will all change tomorrow......cos loopingmania is about to break loose.....better get the cameras ready
I've got mummy lunch at 12.30 at Clifton, I don't think my mum would appreciate me dragging her down to the freezing cold beach (it would probably kill her being 77). & whats the bet when lunch is over the wind will die die dddiiiiieeeee
By the way WAVES ROCK![}:)] Much more fun than flat water, but when there's no waves FLAT WATER GPS SAILING ROCKS!! it's a sport one can never get bored with because there's so much variety.
Just checked clifton..
direction south s/w so a bit blocked out at south clifton but middle clifton looked good.
Swell 2 feet plus.
Wind gusty 15 knots in middle, so hope it strenghens and swings a bit more south.
lets wait for after lunch to have a look.
POND ... Unmentionable at this early stage of the day.
cheers
Great turnout for the Clifton Expresssion Session which was moved to Sandpits.....we smashed it in brilliant conditions which came as a supprise with a fortunate change in the weather
It was decided to let the Seabreaze viewers vote who who they think is the best sailor and why you think so
Prizes for this event will be given next Sat night at the BBQ
U guys got balls guys[}:)] i was going to have a crack but when i got onto the beach i realized they had shrunk so had a quickie at Mortama nice effort good to see Damien windsurfing in the cold
No wonder you haven't landed a loop yet, spending too much time on the beach?? Houston, or was it achieved today??
That's enough insolence from you young Izzak.........we were ripping
Now stop listening to your own voice and vote!!!!
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha you are very funny guys
God bless and goodnight and go the pies
On a more serious note:
Conditions did not quite happen ( at Sandpits) for the 'Mothers day expression session".
Although a few of us did get a few runs in, generally the wind was not just there.
When I first went out it was 25knts, but this only lasted for a few minutes!.
From then on it was light and COLD. The swell was there but the shorebreak was heavy.
oh well, at least i had a few nice swims in the rip
we will try again another time.
