Go Fos.
Hey guys tommorows forecast is looking great. S/SW around 15-20 knots. The entry fee is $10 and all you need is a bouyency vest and suitable gear. Looking at a 2.30pm start and the breifing is a 2pm. Get there nice and early, should be heaps of fun. There wont be a support boat now so please use common sense if you attend. Have fun and good luck to everyone.
a lot of west in it down here at Lauderdale, hope it swings round later in the day.
Go team national pie!!!
happy Australia day all.
Forecast is looking pretty perfect as it's meant to swing around to the SSE at 15+ knots (fingers crossed).
Awesome Dash for Cash. Todays Dash was a great success with a solid 18-20 knot Southerly buster. Kaleb won his first Dash in around 10 mins, Steve 2nd, Dave 3rd, Russ 4th, Kazza 5th, Damo 6th. Damo won the Auswind/Flying Objects Nitro fin. Great work everyone, we had 17 entrants Good job red team.
Fun day at the Dash for Cash,
Sim took some photo's, Thanks Sim and thanks for bringing the boys to see their dad.
Cheers Russ
No Formula division today!!
Well done on running a great event Steve. Quite hard work with that chop on the River. Well done to Kaleb for winning and to everyone who went in it. We had a heap of spectators watching, which was great.
Here's a video of the start taken by my 10 year old daughter on her i-pod touch, and she made it into a you tube thing. Useful things, children. (some of the time).
Hey Houston Dad told me that he beat you.
That shows me that your bones are not like they were when you were a lot younger ha :)][}:)][}:)]
God bless and goodnight[}:)][}:)][}:)]
Did Miles finish??
He was sailing in his 60th year, Hope you made it mate!!
well done cheers Russ
Do we know where people finished after Damo??
A few different pics by Easty who was notablty NOT on the water
Jez you gotta leave those boats alone
Yeah Russ Miles made it, came in just behind me
Great photos Easty, very clear quality. Well done to your daughter taking the video. Check out the photo of the kayaks. At first I thought there was a midget being taken for a ride in the front. Take a closer look and there is a sailboard that has collided with a kayak. Who the hell was that!!!
Well spotted Steve, I missed that.
Yeah great camera (Houston's), I love the second shot with all the symetrical mast angles.
I zoomed in on my Iphone, other wise you cannot really see it. Hey Russ thats great to see your kids getting along so well. Mine at that age (and still are) were hitting each other.
No collision! If you watch the start video you can see Will powering up, then wham hits the deck after collecting the rope off the back of the buoy. The kayakers have to take evasive manouvers to get past him.
I am going to do somthing about the entry into the water on the Sandy Bay point!
To be honest it's unsafe to enter into the water holding your equipment. What does everyone think would work????
I am happy to gather idea's and present to HCC Infrastructure Services Director for some funds to improve this for everyone. I saw Bear son fall in on the rocks (hope you are ok) entering the water holdong his expensive gear and was thinking, if only there was a small path, it would be safer for everyone not just sailboarders.
Cheers Russ
