Who is planning any fun trips over Easter?
It’s so fantastic to see so many keen Tassie windsurfers still enjoying the best sport, in the best place in the world.
I know it’s a big call for all the mainlanders out there, but I love the fact that all the best windsurfing places in Tassie are still available for all to enjoy to the max. Along with the best windsurfing crew who are the best bunch of mates.

I'll be localising, looks like possible seabreezes from Sat onwards, I've been getting the longboard out at Sandy Bay recently, maybe we could do a longboard trip from there to Bruny, unless it's blowin' for the shorties.
Being an optimist i will still be heading up to marrawah, forecast looks a bit lame but it's worth a crack
No trips planned, but hope to get out off Sandy Bay at some stage over Easter if we get a nice seabreeze!!
I'll be down the East coast hope we get some wind, might even see if I can get kicked off Moulting Lagoon again Second thoughts it's duck shooting season I think, maybe not the safest spot near shooters but I could always say I was trying to save the ducks.

I'll be trying Georges Bay as per usual but the forecast looks pretty tame so far.
On another note; it was about Easter last year that the rain started. Keep an eye on the trough of low pressure forming south of WA and into the bite over easter, looks like it could drag a fair bit of moisture from way up Queensland way. Could be another wet winter.
Buzzy what's your take on Friday forecast for Marrawah? Trail Harbour would be better but i don't suppose anyone would get off their arse to try that. Winds 10-20 knots S-SE winds SW swell 3-4m, I'd be keen on that
Liam and I have just decided to give Marrawah a crack even with a lame forecast leaving early Fri morning. I know Brett,Tania and Gordon will be there and hopefully a few others
Marrawah forecast for Friday; Possible chance of a sail at Bluff in 10-15 knots. I think you would be pushing it to expect a sea breeze to kick up there at this time of year. There should be plenty of swell though.
Saturday chance of Furries, but again I think the wind will be very light and the swell might just be a touch on the large size for such a light wind.
Good to hear the 'Silver Spoon' is heading up for the trip, have fun!
I'm being boring, if there was heaps of wind forecast I'd be up at Marrawah in a flash, but it's looking a bit dodgy. Got lot's to do at home and want have a surf with my nephews Easter Sunday.
Bluff beach turned it on Friday, sunny with 20 knots out the back, as usual gusty on the beach which made it a challenge getting out. Nice smooth waves with the sets up to three quarter mast high. In the water 1pm and out about 5, gave up when the cramp set it.
Those brave enough to get off there armchairs and take up the challenge were:
Lightweight division: Al Macleod (sponsored by JP and Neil Pride), Locky Macleod (left the latte set on the Gold Coast and now living in Launceston), Jordie (13 year old future hot shot) and Liam (my son who could sail if he ever gets his arse into gear)
Heavy weight division: Brett - when he hit the water the tide went out.
Pro division: Ant Houston - still looking for sponsorship and wondering why I'm getting ignored.
Locke is sticking around for 3 years at lauceston uni, is into speed sailing and now that he is growing up we'll get him into the waves.
Saturday and Sunday no wind but the waves stayed up for the boys surfing at Lighthouse
well we had a great sesh at stanley.the pb jibes or better known as alpha by myself (15yrs) and dad (perkins) are in the top 22 best in the world.

Hey Izaac, always wondered what this "Alpha" thing was - are you saying it's a measure of your speed through your gybe? How does it work, does the GPS realise when you bear off to initiate the gybe and then realise when you've straightened your path again, and then calculate the speed for that period?
And why is this info useful?

a alpha is calculated with your average speed over 500m,there for 250m in turn and 250m out as quick as you can but you have to get back into a 50m proximity from where you started.

Bluff Easter, I think Al has the style, not sure how to describe my sailing, good conditions though, well worth the 11 hour drive
