Well, been going 3 years now and had my first self (with goeff) rescue today.

Very windy day at Rosevears, over 30 easy. RIgged the 5.8 Koncept and just got far enough out to be in the rough channel and BANG, done a mast.Geoff came and helped de rig (big thanks mate) I managed to dropped the extension de rigging for good measure

Very long trek back to land then back to the road but all good. Rigged Pauls 5m wave sail and got out the wave board for a second assault, loved the combo making the rough conditions much more manageable.

Rosevears claims another victim...that's an epic walk Ben. mind you it could have been worse - you were lucky it was high tide otherwise it would have been pretty tough going through all that stinky mud

Bad luck Ben, looks like quite an effort to get back to the start point. Good you went out again and finished on a high!!

Hiya, looking for a good place to sail on the river- is Rosevears any good? Any tips about tide etc?
Cheers,
Phil

NW-NNW summer seabreezes are best. Outgoing tide helps to get going.

This time of year the water is starting to get very cold and will soon become too cold to sail there. Is a great spot to sail but is not suited to beginners, would not advise going alone. Tidal influence is very strong in both directions.
