The KA Sails "Dash for Cash" is scheduled on the Windsurfing Tasmainia Circuit Guide for Wed 26th Jan, I think that's the Sandy Regatta.
I presume this is still on.
This is a simple dash over the Derwent fron Long Point and back.
I went in this event for the 1st time last year with about 15 other entrants and had a ball.
Anyone can enter from pros to newbie's. Fos who was a newbie last year entered and made it over and back, maybe now Fos you'll enter as a pro.
On the guide we have Steve Charles as`the contact, is that still OK Steve?
Pass the word around so we can get heaps of people enter this year.
Heaps of prizes: Dozens of KA sails, thousands of dollars.....well that could be over stated, but everyone gets a meat pie and a beer.
And I'm going for the $50 lucky dip prize 3rd year running .
Actually Houston, seeing you struggle to get upwind to the finishing bouy and me planing past on my longboard to pip you at the end was just pure joy, yes a larger field will be good fun.
Hey, Kaleb might cause a major upset and give Dave and Steve a run for their money!
I'll be there with some sort of equipment, can surf ski's go in it if the wind is light?
Can't resist the meat pie's and beers
Speaking of meat pies, it disappointing to see the Dash for Cash clashes with the Pie Eating contest. See:-
sandybayregatta.com.au/?page_id=6
Not enough consideration for the Pie Eating - Speed sailing crossover athletes among us I reckon
Thanks for the reminder, i watched in awe at those athletes last year.
i think i will go in the pie eating contest, ive always thought i would have a chance at that. (I won the PAL eating contest at high school)
besides my gear is to small, but my mouth isn't!!!!
Hi guys, sorry for the late reply. I just saw this thread, must have overlooked it.
Yes Ant Dash for Cash is on.
Will follow up tomorrow and post some more info.
Stay tuned.
Steve, Fos our IT wizard is going to put a stcky on this so it stays at the top.
Can anyone find the photos of last year, I saw a good one of us all lined up at the start.
This is the Sandy bay Regatta so it's the best chance all year to really show the world just how bloody good we really are.......er well maybe just how stupid.
I have contacted Reuters, London Times and Pix Magazine, told them that Smiffy and Perks Junior are getting too aggressive and taking over World Windsurfing.
Said there will be a coup and it will happen 1.30pm at the Regatta and to expect some blood.
.......oh and by the way we have our first competitor from overseas, Kim Jon Ill [}:)] who I met windsurfing in North Korea last year, has just arrived and will be training in our swimming pool.
This is going to be big!!!!!!!!
Here ya go Houston, it was more exciting once we hit the wind, the last shot me finishing, ahead of you, wha ha ha ha
Quote from steve

Its Geek way of keeping the thread active and bumped to the top of the forum.
Bring Upto Main Post or something like that
It was falling down the list, so I "bumped" it to the top.
Now thanks to Laurie it's a stickie so I'll stop.
This is sounding good. And no easty this time to put you off your gybe ant ?
