There has been a fair bit of interest in another learners day in the north from both the people who attended the last one and a few people who missed out. The location will be Lagoon Bay again and the date is Sunday the 8th of January.

That's great Al,
Muz took the two learner boards back up north to go back to the Leven Yatch Club,
Talk to Johnno to see if you can borrow them for the day. They are brilliant boards, kids that have never windsurfed before are sailing in minutes, this is easliy the best way to get people going in the sport

So the north coast has two boards both of which will be located in Ulverstone. I was under the impression that there should be one board at the Leven club and one based in the Tamar area?

Al, apparantly there has always been two at Leven, hopefully they get used, so we we sent them back with Muz.
We have three down south with a fourth on the way so we could send one of these up to Lonnie. How does that sound.
Still be even better if you can organise for someone to get the two northern boards over to you for the 8th Jan so you have three for the day.

The day will kick off at 12pm at Lagoon beach unless we get an Easterly forecast in which case we will sail Pilot station bay a few hundred metres north of Lagoon.

I think we might be set up by 10.30 AM to take advantage of the early light breeze. There has been a fair bit of interest so the early start will allow people more time on the water.

Al give Jonno a call he could probably organise for someone to get the two start boards from the leven yatch club down to you

Sunday was looking a little average for the Learn to windsurf day. At 9am torrential rain was falling but the forecast was good and by 10 am the rain had cleared and conditions were perfect. I had collected the two Starts from Ulverstone so we had around five sets of gear to use. As the tide dropped the wind filled in and provided some nice short board conditions out in the river.
Around thirty five people attended the day and about twenty of those either hadn't windsurfed before or had only sailed on old longboards.
The photos were taken by Sam Flood mostly on the Sunday but there are also a few from later in the week.
