They were wearing booties Kazza, but that pic was the guys jumping out of their van (where they spent most of their time unless sailing) to scramble over the rocks to retrieve Daniels gear after he got caught in the spin cycle of a huge wash.
Just read that Dany has launched @ BOL without booties today though!!
Not too sure how the last pic got in there it's Windsurfing Tas El Presidente Ant teaching the young guns how to shred at BOL (back of lighthouse)
We saw tonight a 2 min report on the Sydney 7pm ABC news !
Well done.
watched the abc news down here hoping for a bit of coverage and got about 10 seconds. Hope someone can post up the loger report somewhere, looks like a pretty awesome event
More superb images!
Would love to have been there.
Drooling over these photos is the next best thing.
Thanks Johno
Some epic shots there guys!
Thanks for sharing them
Unfortunately we only got to stay down there to see Day 1.
Looks like we missed out on a screamer of a second day.
Though looking at the pic of the road in on the Redbull site I don't recon our Kombi would've been able to get through. Poor thing coped a canning as it was
Bol really turned it on for monday, great work by all the local crew to pitch in with their skills to help make it happen and super big rap for John Pott for bringing BOL alive and taking it to the world... all the hard work paid off big guy!
that third last shot is a story in itself, brilliant stuff. that would be one of my all time windsurfing shots, hows the lump below that dude back looping, balls of steel those lads,
yep, very good photos guys, and great effort by everyone involved.
We might get a bit of wave sailing excitement down here this season i think!!!
In 2006 Johnny Pott arrived in Marrawah, loved it so much decided to live there. Wasn't long before he discovered BOL which was a world class reef on our doorstop that we never even knew was there.
Eight years later his passion and love for BOL all came together and he pulled off one of the most epic wave events the world has ever seen.
Well that's all that needs to be said.
JOHNNY YOU ARE THE LEGEND !!!!!!!
That fortage is amazing blewzs. Those guys are fearless. I can just imagin what it was like out the back as well, they'd be climbing big mountains.
Yea, Great footage Geoff - some superb clips there mate - you could sell that to RedBull! The RedBull footage is equally as impressive though... looking forward to tonights update.
And what Ant said - massive congrats to John, Not enough words can be said, but we all say Thanks mate!
Izaac's pic no. 6 wins my vote for the best action captured. The guy in the orange sail charging under the lip, almost upside down, super critical position, seems to have timed it to perfection. The image is a little grainy, but the action is Epic. The move of my dreams.
.
I reckon action quality is more important than image quality.
Some good moments in your vid too Geoff, well worth it.
Too beautiful for words. Thanks for posting all the great pictures - among the most captivating I've seen, particularly when you also get a glimpse of the coastline. Feeling an irresistible urge to take the family across Bass Straight for a holiday on the wild west coast. I hope the Tasmanian tourism department are paying that Johnny bloke for his efforts

That pretty much sums it up nicely
Some cracking good shots there Jordan
The last one especially is a top notch quality image, red hot action in some of the others too
