Good NY day, found two good runs out past the crossing both were 900m + long and the closest one to the crossing car park had a good curve for a wsw a bit like Sandy P. Maybe the best run where the sand was steepest would be in a ENE to NE opposite bank to the middle run on my GE track. (zoom in)http://ka72.com/viewge.aspx?fid=37211&tid=0
Good on ya Johnno.....bit of an adventure
Jonny Huet would no doubt be keen to put this on the spot guide
Well done Johno!! Great to see photos and your GE tracks. We've been talking about sailing that spot for so long, so great effort - and on NY's day as well!!
Do ya reckon you could walk/sail out to that first run from the carpark area near the crossing?
Dave the walk to the crossing looks about 2 k I think its possible if your keen enough. In the GE pic you can see that I sailed all the way back from the outer runs, not much tacking involved and I was on the StarB proto 50 speed board slingshot 23 and Koncept 5.8 and it was the perfect setup for today . I started on the 6.6 with the IS76 but the wind picked up a bit so I changed down.
Houston not sure if you would want this place on the spot guide coming back in the boat we had tide against wind and the height of the steep chop was unbeleivable 3 to 4 foot high and close together about the last 5k back to the ramp, just nasty. It's a weird place how it fills up from both the E and W
How did you get the speeds on there YOYO.
I would love to go back out there in an East NE and have a go at the middle bank about 1nm long and a good steep bank The pic just above the nose of the plane
