Forecast is for SSW winds. There is a chance that we'll get a good Southerly seabreeze in the afternoon. There may also be good wind earlier.

Breifing and sign up 10am at Dorans. All competitors to be signed in by 10.30 for briefing.

If there is good SSW we'll head to either Droughthy Point or Mortimer Bay(most likely Mortimer) Access can be tricky for 2wd drive cars but we'll work around that. If we go here first race will be on before 12pm.(time announced at briefing)

If the wind is dodgy in the morning we'll look for a Southerly in Cremorne Lagoon in the afternoon.

If racing has not begun by 4pm the event will be called off.

Remember you must be a member of WT. Dave will have forms on the day for those that have not yet joined.

Yep, if they are type 1 or 2 PFD's, which they should be.

I have just been out and put a marker Buoy in at Mortimer in preparation for a good SSW wind.
It will be approx 1 NM between buoys. Looking at doing OUT BACK OUT BACK,if that makes sense, so total distance for each race should be over 4 NM. Hopefully hold 6 races.
The furtest marker is an orange buoy with smaller white buoy attached that has a small white flag about 1m above it on a pole.

Should be a bit of fun the forecast looks OK
Anyone can go in this race, if you're not a member of WT I'll bring down some membership forms, for $35 you can join and enter the race
The course looks pretty simple, not technical and even if you're not into racing it's worth coming down, it's a great place to sail on this forecast and a safe spot for all levels of sailors
I'll leave the BBQ in the van so bring a few snags and we'll throw them on

Yeah, really good event, well done Kaleb for pulling it all together. First two races were good, but the last 4 were really good - blowing pretty much across the course at 18-20, maybe gusting to 25 in some of the squalls that came through. Fanatastic turn out!! Conditions couldn't have been much better in the afternoon, so we were pretty lucky.

Fantastic day, 1st time I've raced, didn't know it could be so much fun, 17 sailors off the start line together wow that was a buzz and a fight on the buoy the other end, thanks kaleb for organinsing the event.
Can't make it up north next weekend but hope you get the conditions we got today.
I'll post some photos in the next couple of days
Damo or Buzzy see if you can get some pics off Simon, he had one fancy camera so his shots could be good.

Fantastic effort Buzzy

Well done for organising a fun day for all. It looked so good when Perks and I were watching from the hill. Race 3 & 4 Fantastic to see everyone blaze across the bay.

Perks look so proud of Izaac, rightly so well done!

Cheers Russ

Awesome event, big well done Kaleb on organizing this and also for winning 5 out of 6 races. Izaak great work on holding onto that 7.0 in some pretty windy cond and well sailed the last 4 races. Ant H, Wil and Kazza also a special mention for sailing really well. Wind was perfect for the last 4 races, 18 knots plus. Definitely the best slalom event ever held down here. We used to have them here a few years ago.

Should have stayed for the last 4 races, looks like the wind kicked in nicely but we decided to head home early after struggling on the first two. Well organised event and looking forward to the next one. The area has so many great sailing spots and so close to Hobart
