Most of you are now aware of the proposal by MAST to develop the Honeywood Drive reserve into a gravel carpark with a jetty and concrete boat ramp.
If this development goes ahead it will restrict the access windsurfers, kitesurfers, kayakers and the local residents have to the lagoon and with the extra boat traffic it will become dangerous especially to learners and render it practically useless for any of the current users.
There is a meeting/rally organised with 3 alderman from the Clarence Council, Don Cusick, Peter Cooper and Sharon Von Bertouch.
We need as many people as possible to come along and show our opposition to the destruction of this unique reserve.
Please all come, bring your friends and help Save Pipeclay
Contact as many people as you can and encourage them to come.
Where: Honeywood Drive Reserve, our usual launching site
Time: 10 am
Date: Saturday 5th
Just got a phone call from one of the residents, Phil Morissby has now got four alderman coming down on Saturday
Reminder of the meeting/rally tomorrow 10am at Honeywood Drive Reserve (our launching site)
Phil Morrisby has done a letter box drop to all the local residents but we are really relying on windsurfers and kayakers turning up, as the residents can't win this on their own
With a show of force we can send a message to the Council not to approve the development.
See ya all there
It would be a real shame if my top fishing ground got wrecked with boats zipping backwards and forwards
god bless and goodnight
PLEASE!!! Can everyone try to find the small amount of time needed to attend tomorrow at 10am.
We need faces in front of Alderman to prove that this place is extremely important to the windsurfing community. If we dont get the numbers, they will think that we dont give a dam what happens to the area.
Hopefully see you there!
Thanks and well done to everyone that found the time to attend todays meeting. A good turnout with approx 70 people in attendance representing many different interest groups.
It was great to talk with Clarence City Alderman Doug Chipman, Richard James and Don Cusick. They listened to all the concerns raised and we are hoping that they will go away from this meeting and act in favour of the community that has the majority interest in this wonderful area.
The Clarence City council has not yet made this Development Application public. They are seeking more information from MAST on certain undisclosed aspects of the application.
Stay tuned!
Todays meeting with Alderman at Pipeclay
Endangered Green Round fish under threat from the MAST development
Endangered Green Round fish killed by neglegent power boat owners with big trailers
Great to see so many people there.
Sorry I couldn't come because of my hip operation.
I hope we manage to stop the develepment.
Godbless and goodnight
I found this poor little fella in the reserve, said he was lost and his family had been run over by one of those great big boat trailers
I told him we were doing our best to save what remains of his home, he reckons we're cool
He is now on the endandered list .
