Yes I'm thinking about it, sort of depends if my new board gets here this week. The wind is looking a little light for this weekend (as usual)!
Hi Steve and others, I am keen to sail particularly if the weather looks OK. Be great if those thinking about competing respond here so we get a good indication of interest. There is likely to be a small fleet of BIC 295s racing as the Nationals are in Hobart next January. In sub planing conditions the BICs clean up the non centreboard boards. Different story with a bit of breeze. You are able to enter up to 9.00am on the day for $35 or online up until Wed 31st for $25. Lunch pack provided for first day. Details at http://www.ryct.org.au/index.php/audi-showdown-2012
Not much point in entering if there are only one or two sailors so some decisions need to be made.
So at this point we have 3 possibilities,
Steve
Karen
Gordo.

Not looking crash hot for planing conditions, whats the verdict gang and I haven't got my big board yet, next week it arrives. The only board I could use is the Funster, great for no wind with it's dagger board but if no one else is sailing I won't bother.
Forecast for Saturday is an early seabreeze of 10-15 knots and for Sunday it's turning ESE 10-15 around the middle of the day. That's pretty perfect conditions for course racing.
Racing does start a little early though (9:25 and 9:55; Sat and Sun, respectively) and not sure whether there'll be enough wind until around midday?
Super keen to get out on the River though.
I hope theres a bit of wind around when the race starts, have fun guys; if I had the gear I'd be there with you
Not sure where you are getting those start times Dave?
As I read the sailing instructions racing starts at 10.00 hours each day. As the sailboards are the last division to start on the alpha course (between Battery Point and Bellerive) I make our start time to be around 10.20hours.
I'm keen to get down there before 9.00am to enter. See you there- Marieville Esplanade.
sorry to but in, will have to say what everyone is thinking.... this season really sucks for wind!+++
hope something happens for the showdown guys and gal.
Got four races in. Nine windsurfers on the water all up. Too light most of the time, but still good to get out on the River. I tried my new 9m on the Formula board, but definitely a bad move - should have used the 11m. The three guys on the BIC One Designs were having a great battle every race.
Despite the excellent racing conditions yesterday (), it is not looking too good for today, with another light ESE wind forecast for later in the afternoon. Might end up better than the forecast suggests, but looks very similar to yesterday.
11 knots by 2pm and peaking at 13 knots after racing finishes.
I'm going to give it a miss.
Hows it going down there you lads (and karen!).
Good turnout for the showdown. Wish I was there with my prodigy. Sounds like bic guys having close racing - time to dump the formula and get the rsx or bic and do one design fleet racing! Rsx is back in the olympics.
The family and I are still living in mackay, windsurfing and sailing my trailer sailer out to the whitsundays usually monthly.
Hope everyones well.
