Slalom Racing/GPS/Fun Weekend is being held at Stanley on 12th-13th March

Formula Racing round 4 - Final
Briefing 12 noon Saturday
Stanley Caravan Park
Contact Dave Morehead 03 6239 6353

GPSChallenge
Anyone with a GPS can join the Tassie Speed Seekers you don't have to be a pro, if you can uphaul a start board and sail over zero knots you can be part the team. If you haven't got a GPS thorougly recommend you get one, heaps of fun

Everyone welcome to this weekend, compete if you want to or just go for a blast and meet other crazy wind loving freaks and a quiet little drink at the end of the day

Pass the word around and if there are any beginers who would like to give windsurfing a go we can arrange to get a couple of learner boards for anyone to use. Let me know if you're keen and I'll organise the boards, Ant

bugger can't make it - Going to watch Nitro Circus in Newcastle that weekend.

However as an average sailor I can highly recomend getting a gps- It really helps to show improvements and trim and general help stuff. - I'm so eloquent.

Night night all

Claire and I a going up and will be there for three nights and four days, will hopefully get up there late Friday afternoon.

Wind down south NOT looking good at all for the upcoming week! But looking at the long range forecast for Stanely (which i know doesnt mean that much) Easterly winds and a little bit of wind up there, so looking forward to the weekend. Maybe a quick sail Friday late if there's wind around up there as well

I'm thinking of coming over for the weekend but would like to know what everyone else is doing. I would be camping at the caravan park and I just want to know if anyone else would be joining me. I'm not into the racing and the social side would be what I would be going for. Anyone else camping and if so when were you going to get there? Oh by the way, it takes me 5 hours to get there and if the forecast is dicey I hope you understand.

Iceman, I'll be camping in the camp ground probably in the back of my van, i'll be very disorganised so won't have any food, I'll try out the local cafe. No need to compete if you don't feel like it, just come up for a blast.

Where is the AGM held? and I heard it starts 6pm, is that a bit early, if there's wind some might be still out sailing.

As a general rule, office bearers and interested members have the AGM on Saturday evening in the meeting room at the Stanley Caravan Park while everyone else has nibbles and drinks at the main BBQ at the Stanley Caravan Park. Obviously a fairly big incentive to get the AGM started and over as soon as possible so everyone can get back to the BBQ area!! The AGM usually takes around 2 hrs.

Sunday night we usually try to organise dinner out at one of the local restaurants and this is where we do the prize giving, before the meals come out. Usually a matter of booking the whole restaurant as we normally have a quite a few keen to attend. Always a lot of fun!!

There are plenty of shops to get food and nibbles for the BBQ food and you should be able to get a good breakfast at the takeway shop in the morning.

Hi guys, this weekend should be huge with good wind and heaps of people going. Sorry but due to family commitments I will be unable to attend. I just picked up the trophies today which Dave will collect. The trophies look sweet, we have them for:
1st, 2nd and 3rd overall.
1st & 2nd Slalom
1st & 2nd formula
1st & 2nd junior
Ist masters
1st grand masters.

I will leave the invoice in the box it comes to $121 inc gst which I think is really good. I had better give Rob at Tasmanian Trophy House (Mathers Lane) a plug because he always gives us a good deal. We have been getting them from him for over 10 years.
So guys check your points total for the 3 rounds and see what you have to do to win one of these little babies. Good luck everyone and have heaps of fun. Just remember its not about winning its just about having fun. Bulls**t its all about winning (maybe).

It's not looking too bad, NE on Saturday and SW on Sunday. We'll be sailing, just might not be as epic as some of the recent sessions at Stanley. I'm heading off in a couple of hours, so see people there ...

Sorry guys! Ive weighed up all the pros and cons and its just not the best option for me to come up on such a below average forecast. I realise that theres more happening than just the sailing and I look forward to supporting the WT committee over the coming year.
Have a great time and enjoy not having to listen to my drunken dribble!
P.S. Houston for President! he cares more for the sport than all of us combined. and hes an awesome bloke that we all luv!!!!

Just checked the bom forecast, looking fantastic.
I'll be at Stanley for what looks like an epic event tomorrow, having a quiet little drink with a few die hards, then heading over to Back of Lighthouse Sunday for the occasional smack off the lip

Can only feel sorry for the rest of you couch potatoes that choose to stay at home playing computor games

Haven't left yet, just checked the forecast and according to Ant it will be blowing its head off, too much wind for me, not worth coming, won't be able to hold on......not! With your forged forecast Ant all of Australia will be there.
Think we might have to leave this one too, Clyde had to work 24 hrs straight Thurs/Fri and is exhausted, if it was looking fantastic I'd be dragging him out of bed & into the car, but I won't be cruel I'll leave him sleeping. All the best up there, we send our apologies.

Good day of sailing today. Wind was 15-20 knots from the ENE for most of the day, a little lighter in the afternoon. About 15 sailors out enjoying the nice flat water. No racing, as tide was too low at midday and was getting a bit late to set all the buoys by the time the water was back in enough to sail. Lots of photos were taken by Muz who was out on his jetski, but I only have one of the rigging area (afternoon session):

I didn't mind not going, I was in 2 minds about going anyway unless it was going to be a fab session I would have been up there. Clyde was happy to come up and sleep all the way up in the car. To be honest Jedi I had a lovely time at home just relaxing, gardening, renovating, lots of walks and MTB ride. We've both been feeling totally burnt out and I think my adrenaline glands are empty from being pumped about the wind all summer. Don't worry Jedi I won't miss out if it's mega!! How'd your horsey riding go?
