Very impressive ...

We've used the last one as a perpetual GPS Trophy (awarded annually to the highest placed TSS in the GPS TC at the end of the calendar year).

Any thoughts on how we might best use this one: perhaps 'most improved' GPS sailor? Or we could do a 2nd Place?

Maybe sailor with the highest number of contributions to monthly scores over the year.

I likthe idea of 'most improved GPS sailor' that gives the newbies a real incentive to have a crack

Good to get some ideas out there. I think Kaleb's has a lot of merit, as the person who contributes most to the monthly scores for the team (ie those that make up the final points for the month) is probably most deserving of getting a trophy for their efforts and is likely to have committed a lot more time and effort to the competition than the person who may only target a few epic sessions and takes out the top spot.

I reckon each time we get a trophy (assuming one day we may be lucky enough to win another) we should make them into perpetual ones, so we can have a bit of a list going

Be good to hear others thoughts on how the following should perhaps be ranked:
Top of the GPS TC ladder - Perpetual Trophy (already in place)
Most contributions to monthly GPS TC for the year
Most improved GPS sailor (probably voted on by other team members, or calculated some way via PB's)
Second Place on the GPS TC ladder

PS We'll need to decide by 31st December 2010!!

I think Kaleb's idea is a good one, it’s all very exciting for 2011.

I also like Ant and Dave’s idea of a most improved sailor, looks like we will have to win another trophy.

Both good idea’s

The Tasweigan best ranked out of everyone in the world. That would be a great honour.
Then another trophy of some sort for the person who has contributed the most.
And another for most improved as Ant says to encourage the newbies, I know it's hard breaking into a new sport and not being put off by the winners always winning, should be something for everyone.

It would be good if it was possible that any one was able to get it for the month.
Ie newbies, most improved, those who have contributed the most to help the TSS, etc.
We are talking every month rather than every year are we not.

I think we're talking an annual award, otherwise it might be a bit tricky to keep track of who's done what, when?

Hardie, I'll PM you my work address so at least we can get it down here - thanks!!

So whats the go? Make it the most contributor for the year sound good looking at the table kaleb has made and then give it back next year if i dont win it.....just an idea if thats what the cup will be.

just make it the perkins cup as no one could possibly ever win it with that much time on the water.
i remember when we were sailing full on perk and 100 hours a year was a challenge i would imagine that mark is insignificant now.
what would u guys be doing maybe 250 hours or more a year!!!!!!. does anyone keep a journal on hours spent sailing it would be interesting.
merry christmas

From the replies so far (found in other posts as well as this one) and as Captain of the TSS, I declare the new cup the "Contributors Cup".

Then we can have a Physio Cup, who's contributed the most to physio's for sailing long hours and trashing body's.

Yep, I will bring it up. Even your Dad can't beat you as he has already scored well for December, so it's not like he can suddenlly get 6 points (I think max is possibly 2 points and that is not enough). Well done!!
