haha!!! i've been too nervous to start a thread on this after the downwinder one!!
Nek minnit... there's an impromptu unorganised mass of people sailing out into the middle of the bay... with Jerzy at the front saying "follow me!!!"
WV has it for this weekend????? but the calender has been wrong before. Might have to ring Fletch and check.
Its called negative thinking gentlemen to cause the reverse outcome - Ginger, I thought this was your territory
What kind of rig are most people thinking of?
Myself, Slalom 115 and KA 7.4m Koncept.... CA fin....speedos to reduce drag.
James is considering a 85 slalom board, 6.7 sail.....
Perhaps we should start a sportsbet odds list?
PS - Gingerpom.... if your legs were any whiter you could get a job being Anne Hathaway's legs stunt double!
Looking at the charts at the moment there will be very little gradient wind so it will be all thermal seabreeze. The later they start the race the better but would not at this stage expect much more than 15 knots, maybe 18 at best.
If thats the case I will be on F2 SX82 (130 litre) and 9.5 or 8.5 koncept or SUP if it is really light.
All acedemic if my ****** shoulder is not right in time.
What is gradient wind? do you mean steadily increasing forecast. Will 26 degrees and sunny aid the 'thermal' affect?
you're on BBQ, beer duty (if the shoulder is still f*&@#d)
The gradient between the high and low pressure systems. Isobars close together a steeper gradient, stronger wind.
Something like that.
You experts out there can explain better than me.
As you can see on this forcast chart there is a high pressure with widely spaced isobars. So if we get wind it will be a local seabreeze, that trough could be some concern though, they can screw things up at times.

Agree K'Dog!
Kato, Doug, all the other CA sailors out there. Come on...... Need some more Carbon Art sailors in the race!!!! Else it's just going to be a walk in the park racing against all these second rate production boards......
I'm going to be sooooo competitive on a freestyle board, 5.5m wave sail and 23cm fin.....
Could we have a category for people who are wearing waist harnesses and have inappropriate gear....? And marks for moves attemped in the last 500 metres?
Awesome! That's more like it! Think Simon is coming too, it's looking like it'll be a good turn out. Fingers crossed for the wind.
Hahaha - just the board he is riding. I shall try to channel him.
Are you getting a spot on the boat as official beer drinker? They should let you drive it!
Sorry to create confusion I remember reading somewhere 12 or 15 clams... but its 15 clams to join in on a IWC race if you aren't a yachtie member. Got it the wrong way round sorry!
Just angling for a big turn out.....
