Mark your calenders for a fantastic day of learning, fun and frivolity.at Anderson Inlet Inverloch for IWC club members and associates.
Sunday 27th November at the Angling Club carpark 9.30am for a 10 am start.
Originally it was the 20th however Mick, the Rock Star, Green spat the dummy because he could not make it to learn one of my special moves called the "Forward Somersault Catapault Thingy" so we had to move it to the 27th
We have brought in an illustrious array of coaches, the Mighty Kato(club Legend), Pete, Mr.Magic Johnston, a club import Red, just call me Red, all the way from Geelong, BMC, I do autographs for a small fee, Mr. Dan Poynton, Mr. Simon, why didn't I do what Dan did when I was Brass Monkey Champion, Chambers and Drift Media's resident Rock Star Mr. Michael Green with more coaches to be confirmed.
Please go online to the club website for more information and registration. YES you do need to register so we know numbers and understand what skills you want to learn at www.inverlochwindsurf.org.au
This is a free clinic(damn that seems expensive!) and you are required to wear a type 2 pfd whilst in(that's me) or on the water.
The IWC Master Chefs will be cooking up a storm with a BBQ lunch.
Register online for your free set of steak knives........ ahh no .........for your free teaching clinic!
Drift Media has advised that Mr. Green will be available for autograph signing between 12.30 and 1 pm
To clarify, Drift Media will NOT be signing autographs on the day.
In fact, in exciting developments, Drift Media announces that it has brokered a deal to become exclusive agent for BMC(tm) and his associated endorsements.
During BMC's special guest appearence on the 27th, we forward the following rules:
1) No eye contact is to be made during the autograph signing
2) BMC is to be addressed as "Oh Mighty One" or "B to the M to the C" in any conversation
3) A red carpet of high weave is to be laid between BMC's car and the Inlet, taking into consideration the fluctuation of tides.
4) Bribes, third party endorsements and cash for comments are to be placed in small paper bags, clearly marked with amounts and products to be endorsed.
Failure to adhere to the rules will lead to a hissy-fit of epic proportions,
Sincerely yours,
BMC(tm) Management Team
Drift Media
I think we need to renegotiate your fee Mick. 0% of annual gross earning's is way too expensive for BMC to pay for your services.
Please be aware that BMC does not condone behaviour such as that implied by point 4) above, however cash donations to the BMC gear foundation will be greatfully accepted
On a serious note though, we're in the process of putting together an A1 team of coaches for the day so please list here the things/skills you want to get out of the day. If we can get a bit of a list together we'll make sure we address them on the day... if we can't we'll just make it up
Can't wait for the day guys !
Hoping to get some pearls of wisdom on Waterstarting, Tacks/Gybes and maybe some Harness/strapwork too.
Cheers
Your Lordship, BMC.
Does having bought a 7.0 Kult from your extraordinary collection count as a presumed relationship of extended bribery for a short amount of time or is it seasonal in its longivity?
In gracious acceptance of any answer or none, Naz
In preparation for this big event I am off to a secret location in Queensland for 6 days for Boot Camp
Good timing!
Mate from QLD is coming down that weekend and wants to try windsurfing - so have signed him up.
Will be bringing all my boards and gear down - ready for all conditions!
Hi,
Over a dozen sign up so far. Its shaping up to be a great event.
Heres some info about the group
SKILL LEVEL
THINGS YOU'D LIKE TO WORK ON
There were a few skills that were left off the list, so I though I should add them.
"DIGGER" would like to learn how to joust
"BMC" would like to learn how to wash off some speed so that other people can keep up.
"RICHIE" would like some lessons on elocution and deportment.
First green light has been given and there is still room for more. Log onto website for registration at
www.inverlochwindsurf.org.au
At the amount of regerstrations you're getting, we'll need to apply for the inlet to be expanded to fit all the sailors in!
First thoughts was that Kato was somewhere between 1/6th and a 1/7th of your survey population but then I realised that I was confusing my brown and orange...
Second green light has been given
Final call will be made Friday/Saturday but looks like it will be holding with a 10 - 15 kt SW forecast with a change to WSW in the afternoon.
9.30 am Set up
10.00 am Start with Weather and Safety Briefings
12.00 am BBQ - By the IWC Master Chefs
4.00pm - Close of proceedings
Not sure if my muscles will stand that much punishment from Kato or Red
Do not forget, special appearances by BMC and his management Mick "Rock Star" Green at 12.00am for autograph signing
Woo Hoo
The third green light has been issued with a caution for beginners. As the forecast is for 20kts plus in the morning we will run the Intermediate Clinics - woohoo - and the Event Manager will make a call on the day as to whether the Beginner Clinics will proceed in the afternoon.
We will NOT run any beginner clinics in any winds over 15 kts for safety reasons.
Mick's tried and true forecasting method of wrapping a seagull in silver foil and throwing it in the air has definitely confirmed strong winds for the morning but it has not returned to earth yet to tell us what happens in the afternoon
Pete - forget the timtams - no time for eating when the wind is up
Don't you guys normally have a break when the tides in?
It depends on who's shout it is for cafe lates!
