Seen a few threads about places to sail at Phillip Island with different wind directions - but none of them mention Ryall. Is it possible to sail there in an E/NE? It looks perfect in Google Maps.

Hey Tristan,
Rhyll can be ok in a n/ ne wind, but it's high tide dependent, as it's super shallow and kinda muddy. I'm down at "Blokes Island" at the moment and hoping the forecast n/ne wind comes up tomorrow. You can also try Silverleaves in the same direction. No problem with the tides there.

i've sailed off the end of dunsmore road in cowes in the NE - NW. it's close-ish to silverleaves and not affected too much by current. I noticed last sunday that they've put no parking signs up on the grass at the beach end of the street, so if u can get a park nearby, u can rig on some nice grass where cars can no longer park, and only a short walk to the water

the cowes yacht club is good too

Cat Bay - nature is cruel for sticking spots like these in places that have cold winters[}:)]

Now where is Cat Bay? A few people mentioned it, but I can't find it marked on any map!

Great day sailing yesterday, hey?

OK Ginger, I've put down markers for Cat Bay and Ventnor (where I sailed today) and descriptions for Ventnor and Cleeland Bight.

Reckon I've done my share for the moment.

BTW, Ventor was awesome this afternoon when the S came through. 20-25kts with some big gusts in the high 20s. Never been there before but a beautiful, quiet beach. It was sunny for about an hour, then the rain clouds came over. Had another half hour of sailing, got back up to the car and packed just as the downpour started. Perfect!

And this was my second sail of the day. Almost makes up for the ****ty no wind summer holiday me (and my family) have been suffering through.

Here are a couple of photos after I came in and the wind had dropped:

thank you.

It's not my site. I'm just a really tidy minded person.

I know, but you're the forum's "put it on the windmap" reminder. As for being "tidy minded", I think there's a medical term for this...
