Wooz,
Great to see you guys out and having a blast!. It was also awesome to have heaps of grommets involved in the whole event.

I probably do need to apologise for sending you all the way accross the Inlet to Point Smyth during the relay challenge (about a kilometre away) when the actual activity only involved travelling about 100 metres to the sandbar!
The look on Matty's face when you got back and I told him off my...err.....mistake was priceless!

I must also bring into question Adrian's loyalty to his boss (ie you) and his place of employment..., since he took every opportunity to protest and dispute anything that Team RPS did.........if I was you, I'd get him deported......

The "rrrrr's" Longboard Team

Sand sculpture or a blatent attempt to sway the judges??

What's all this fuss about 50 knots?
Dan P with a peak speed of 66.61 knots....not bad for a Windsurfer One Design in 15 knots!

I had a blast ... my wife commented that she hasn't seen me smile that much after a session for a long time. Everybody was having a blast and the amount of cheating, deceit and generally manipulation of the rules was priceless. I've had a few nervous times windsurfing but my girlish giggling when trying to sail the "maxi-super-special-one design-terrific-tandem" with Kato as we blasted on a broad reach (whilst trying to dodge a kiteboarder!) was hilarious..Peak speed 16.09knots !!

Thanks to IWC/RPS for putting on the event but sucks there was no wind Sunday for sail!

Looks like it was great day, pity I missed it due to other commitments. The BIC Bamba in my back yard would have loved to been on the water again. The last time would have been at Inverloch.

You forgot to mention Red, that at one stage, the stern hull of the super maxi overtook the bow hull!
I was also particularly impressed with the water feature you guys constructed out of PVC pipe....

I have to thank and attribute Matty for that GPS reading of 66.16kts. After getting a reading of 15.6kts on the wally on the way down the inlet during the latte challenge, Adrian and myself asked our judge to kindly look the other way while we swapped and Adrian drove back with the GPS to the Angling Club. A quick transition back onto my arm showed a reading of 34.05kts - Stoked!!! and according to the head judge legal as it was achieved during competition while our board was in motion on the inlet.

During a later sabotage effort where Adrian successfully stole Wooz's and Matty's board and dispatched it over on the sand bar, Matty tried to take me out with his boom as he sailed past giving my GPS a whack. Upon arriving back to the beach my reading was now 66.16kts. Completely legal and achieved while sailing on the water!!!

Dan,

I've already called for a re-match! After all of the colusion against Matty and myself, it only seems fair that we get another crack at the chocolates and a chance to play dirty.

But I must say that Adrian and yourself played with nouse, something that I may have to drill Matty on!

Mick, when can we organise round 2??

Hi Wooz,
I think we need to be honest here and dispense some "tough love"....
Defeat is not an easy thing, but really you've got no one to blame but yourself. The judging was impartial, fair and honest, so the only reason your team was not successful was purely down to lack of talent....!

In all seriousness, I've been thinking heaps about expanding the latte challenge so that there was more than just sailing down to get a latte (eg maybe also sailing a table and chairs out to the sandbar to have a ladie's/gentleman's refined morning tea)..

Anyone got any other suggestions???

for starters, the "PVC special" should be in historical archive with the foiling moth and the sailrocket.

thanks for the vids. Oldie....
Clearly we witnessed a significant moment in windsurfing history....namely for the following reasons:

1). the coming together of rival factions (Eastern Victoria- Pit Crew and Western Victoria= Connewarre),
2) the culmination of more than 90 seconds of planning, research and development
3) the shock and awe of the thing actually floating!

In years to come, we will look back on this date, and remember it as the start of the revolution!

so pissed I missed the challenge, usually I am pretty good at making bull**** stories to escape and get out for a sail, but could not win on Saturday. Sounds like everyone had an awesome day.

At least I mowed the lawn. Hey..a mower with a mast track and a couple of foot straps??

Good work IWC.
Rich.

I do believe Old salty, that Warwick is demonstrating the elusive "Dying Cockroach" manouvre- one of tricks that formed part of the mystery challenge.

Cheers for a great weekend IWC and RPS. Can't believe we lost that feather contest, I'm sure I doctored that one of ours to be the longest. Opps did I just say that out aloud...

The Latte challenge was a great thing unto itself. Love to try it on a south west wind. Interesting technique having to use two hands as my back hand just to keep going in an easterly and running tide. Latte on the sand bar sounds great...high or low tide.

One wonders how do you think up a move "The Dying Cockroach"?

Tricky execution, fortunately no-one stepped on me.

I actually think the "Mystery Challenge" Move #2 was more technical,
"The Lunchbox", or maybe it was the fact that I attempted [and completed!] it after a lunch consisting of 3 snags/double bread/sauce!

Great shots by Jodie and Rob. Captured the good vibes of the day!

Ummmm Wooz,
I think that it is called "The Lunchbox" for reasons that have nothing to do with lunch!!!

Although your version of "The Box" was finely executed, we did take points off for a distinct absence of sequined speedos!....

OK...Old Salty you blew our cover....in the process of offerring all sorts of bribes for the Longboard Challenge, Warwick from RPS offerred me this brand new state of the art "Wind-Sup-er One Design" for only $5000...I know, its practically a steal at that price! It does look at bit like a One Design that you could buy off e-bay for $50 but it has a SUP deck on it, and a customised IWC graphic with flames!
He assures me that's is all the rage in Europe and it's only a matter of time before everyone is on one...Mind you, I am not sure why he wanted payment in cash with non-sequential numbered notes....
