Saturday has the meteorological forecast equivalent of "Gone fishing" ie "South to southwesterly 15 to 20 knots."
I will be buying a lawn mower and getting some sleep.
Sunday might be better though. Anyone going to Sandy?
Still no forecast for Sun or Mon from BOM yet.
For me I will be sailing from my new backyard as of Fri, if there is enough wind. With Fri and Sat forecast I might have a chance. Can't wait.
Forecast issued at 5:10 am EDT on Wednesday 7 March 2012.
Friday 9 March
Winds Southeasterly 10 to 15 knots tending southerly 15 to 20 knots during the morning then decreasing to below 10 knots during the evening. Seas 0.5 to 1.5 metres.
Saturday 10 March
Winds South to southwesterly 15 to 20 knots. Seas 0.5 to 1 metres increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the evening.
Why is it always windy and sunny on weekday afternoons?
Then again, what do you do with a 24 knot easterly anyway?
Forecast is whoafull....... hopefully we get some of those hot easterly winds over WA next weekend.... but my guess is it will be during the weekdays..............
Might see if I can steal a turfdog......
DEPRESSED............
Might sneak out early today and go for a sail before it gets dark.
There should be about 18kts out there in a couple of hours.
It's now 21 knots in the south channel (and 8:40 pm). Has anyone tried using mountain bike lights sailboarding? My ayups are supposed to be all weather units...
It probably got to around 15kts this morning. Got planing a few times in the gusts, but other than that it was pretty poor. Rigged a 7.5
Sunday 11 March
Winds
Southerly 5 to 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon.
Is actually a good forecast. It means stay at home, go mountain biking or mow the lawn....
This has got me thinking
15-20 knots is flirty.
15-25 knots is a Spearmint Rhino of a forecast.
10-20 knots means the Bom can't be assed.
Anyone desperate for a wave sail? Phillip island is cross shore ...see below
mid to late afternoon....... tide is coming in though!
