Well I got a couple of hours in today (Sat) infront of the shops at Sandy Pt, was a bit light on the inside but well worth the effort slogging out, had some of the cleanest glassy waves I've seen at Waratah with some 6ft+ faces. Got smashed a good few times as well trying to get out, but still I am pretty stoked

Sat was so good infront of the surf club..
swell was so good and super clean.. wind was very light and hard to get out.. but was worth the effort getting out

Not sure I made any friends with the surfers though...

Sunday the swell was GONE all together.. still some waist high sets but nothing like sat.. much more wind though
got a few pics on the sunday

Yup - just about to launch back in having got rinsed and spent a few minutes swimming.

Nice big face - first wave of the next set - stands up with the sun streaming through it, and beautifully silhouetted inside the wave was a good 'un.

Hyper-conservative estimate 2m, very probably 3.

Would have been less concerned if a) it hadn't been actually in the break and b) I wasn't spending a lot of time swimming in the break.

Yeah it's not cool up there!
I had a really big one pop up in the wave infront of me that same as that back in Nov.. I went in and said to a mate, that was a big shark in the wave - he said mmmm yeah maybe it was a huge seal.. I said yeah your probably right so we went back out and it poped up in the same spot and we said yeahhh nah thats not a seal haha. called it a day after that!

Still I got less hassle from the fishy than I did from some tea baggers up there on Sunday - Who let the secret out!!!???

Don't know - last year you only ever saw one or two - recently there have been loads.

I'm just waiting for a SW'er when the boys are out on the speed run on the inlet for a kiter to cause mayhem. So far it's been ok, but I can't imagine it's going to be harmonious forever.

Yeah well let's hope it never does happen!

Don't get me wrong I am not anti kiter at all, and I am certainly not agaisnt kiting as most people know I like to play with stings sometimes! It is a great light wind option with a surfboard...

As I always say kiting is like sleeping with fat chicks - it's fun you just don't tell your mates about it!

BUT what I dont like is DOUCHEBAGS! I dont care if someone is on a kite, waveboard, SUP or they are riding on an inflatable sex doll what you ride is fine by me but just don't drop in on peoples wave!!!

Anyway the guy in question only did it once and get the message pretty quick...
