Sorry for delayed update guys, big day yesterday followed by lots of photo editing and Mexican night (thx Kaz) and water bomb warfare :)

Day 2 of competition (Tuesday 19th) was held at Shoalhaven. Conditions were wave cross onshore with mid size waves. The wind was enough for competitors to get some jumps and backside wave riding.

Open Pro round 1 got underway along with Amateur first elimination. Early on was some pretty big forwards and backside airs but as the day went on the wind came and went.

Open Pro single elimination results are 1st Ben Severne, 2nd Mick Westra, 3rd Shane Finnigan and 4th Andrew Morris. Double elimination pending.

Completed double elimination in Amateur... Results are 1st Luke Baille, 2nd James Broomhead, 3rd Kirk Koster.

The Masters first round final was also run...Result are 1st Jason Cater, 2nd Akim Halank, 3rd Martin Batstone and 4th Warren Holder. Double elimination pending.

Jodi :)

I guess that's down to taste. Personally I always thought the 100% red look was really cool and made the brand look very unique. You could tell it was a Severn from miles away. The colour combo in the Blade above cheapens the brand in my opinion.

Nice pictures (as always) and update, thanks. Glad to see they're getting some wind and waves.

Thomas, I'm suprised no one has said that Blade needs some batten tension...

I actually thought it's due to the angle to the wind or the sail being under load.

Agree on the photos... good to see they got some nice wave riding conditions at Windang.

Don't think that blade colour combo will be going anywhere near any shelves Stegg!

First it was S1 hook looking wave, then the silver top Blades and then the full RED.
Maybe the "faded-euro-dickietog" colour combo will catch on.

Stands out from the crowd.

Nice work Benny

I think the second battery on the north could do with a turn or two.

Any home made rum floating about on the mex night?

....not sure about cheapen the brand BUT id go with the rest of the above - RED is so synonymous with Severnes, and are so clearly identifiable as such.

PS
Any feedback on how the 2013s differ from 2012s in any real / sailing sense?
ive had the 2013s on demo and love em and the S1...but 2012s are a lot cheaper!

You should of headed down Ryan. We needed your home brew plus the jetski has not seen much water.

Just a reminder to all competitor's, tomorrows briefing will be at the judges house at 9am. If the forecast stays true, we will get the double elimination under way ASAP.

A few got out at the secret spot and northern end of Gerroa. Very light except for the rain squalls. Gerroa will probably be the location tomorrow but will see what the morning brings.

Side shore to cross on. Heats started at 15 mins but went to 12 mins as the wind increased. Some big forward, back and pushloops. It was a pleasure to judge today even though I didn't get to sail.

The debate was on the start of the day whether to run the rest of the double elims or not, but glad we did in the end. The conditions weren't typical Gerroa (cross off) it was side slight on (ESE) but with head high waves and an average 20knots - it certainly sorted men from the boys.
Final results coming....
Jodi :)

Hey, sailed for 5hrs, start 5.0 101 L and finished with 4.2 80 L, really good day, tiny gusty at time but waves were so fun, a few went to the bomby and it was unreal apparently
