Hi all,

Entry details can be found at nswwavesailing.org/

Flatrock entry fee;
$45 per contestant
$25 Juniors and Ladies
Sign on before this Friday 4th October to recieve 2 tickets into the $300 shop voucher, thanks to Surf FX.

The long range forecast for the long weekend is for a medium sized long period South swell (ideal for flatrock) for the whole weekend so the conditions will go off!!! www.coastalwatch.com/swell/forecastMain.aspx?page=sforecastlongterm&location=10&leftnav=0&rightnav=0

See you all there,
George

Just a point of clarification...

on the entry form for Flat Rock it states that you must be a member of NSWWA to compete.

So those guys that are already members of QLD based clubs will also need to join NSWWA??

If your a member of another club that is fine, you need to be a member of an associated windsurfing club for insurance purposes.

So no, you don't need to join the NSW Wavesailing to enter if you are already a member of a QLD club.

Cheers,
George

A second point of clarification...

Has the small print changed on insurance or are you still only insured for the NSWWA sanctioned events? Wouldn't want people to think they're insured for windsurfing everywhere and at anytime.

If it has changed - great!

A good question. A competitor is only covered during their participation in the event. So if you are not covered at any other time.
Insurance is a very complex issue and NSWWA is a member of Australian Windsurfing Assiciation which is the body who organise all the insurance cover for all the affiliated clubs. Considerable effort has gone into keeping the premiums at a cost which clubs and members can afford.

Tim,
Does that mean that you are not covered for MAMBO as it is not a NSWWA event?

Good question
If you are a member of an association my understanding is that you are covered for events as far as insurance is concerned. You then pay the event entry fee.
Check AWA website www.windsurfing.org/ for more advice

In the past there has been problems when someone arrives late to an event and competes without all their insurance cover in place beforehand

Hope that helps. I wlll check my other notes from the AWA AGM from earlier this year too

Forgive my ignorance, but:
Where exactly is Flatrock?
How far north (or south) of Lennox Hd & which turn-off rd gets you to the spot?
What's it like in a 15kn northerly wind?

Ok, ok, I'll do it myself:

The (Angel) Flat Rock is (of course) adjacent the Flat Rock Tent Park
38 Flat Rock Rd, East Ballina NSW
about 7.5km & 10mins south of Lake Ainsworth.

AyreForce 1 is spot on with the location of the event. Check his details above.

Sign on time and details will be posted on Thursday afternoon after reviewing the forecast. Check onto seabreeze and the NSW wavesailing website on Friday to get the info.

Looks like we are getting swell over all 3 days, with potential to sail both tacks over the three days. Bring your SUPS as there will be a friendly SUP comp while the wind is light.

Cheers
George

The SUP comp might be friendly but the locals wont be if 30 or so dudes hit Flat Rock on them.

True, all nswwa activities will be in our contest area though so I am sure the locals will be fine surfing there peaks away from us. We won't be flooding any breaks.

If your considering coming, keep in mind there is over $2000 worth of prizes, waves are going to be pumping and the beer will be cold. See you all there
