Firstly, I don't understand what motivated this discussion but I must say that it appears to me that old Jetsam needs the chat with the shrink.

I do agree that if you compared todays competition sailors to PWA level then they have certainly dropped behind. By that I mean the local guys don't do all the flippy spinny freestyle oriented stuff. However, when it comes to whacking the top of a wave there are plenty of guys who do it at a world class level....... and lets face it, that's where the action is at.

PS - for everyone that knows me, I am now the proud father of a future ripper by the name of Kai. He was born 4 weeks early but still a cracking 7 pounds 2 ounces.

Next few days look like good sailing.

Brien.

merimbula, longest continuous running wavesailing event in the world, 28 years I think.

I could be wrong, but I think the Robe Easter Wavesailing Classic in SA had its 30th Anniversary earlier this year!

Hi, I gather Park Paul was meant to be Mark Paul, an awesome sailboarder from wayback. The Mambo this year was great, even a few more girls out there sailing.

With Pykey winning this year, I was really onto something with my comments earlier in this thread about Donk winning last year. That's hilarious. What are they judging it on these days
Dan, how'd you let that happen?! (And what about your magic twin fin? ) I could ask the same question of a heap of others.
Before all you slooowww people have a go at me again, well done Pykey.

Have you seen any of the sailors that your commenting about in the water lately? All the guys that are winning at the moment are ripping and would give the good old guys a real run for their money.

You need to get away from the past and witness what is going on in the water now.

First of all jetsam, I didnt "let" pikey win, he just won. I sailed my as off the whole time and gave it what I considered to be a good shot, judges saw pikey as sailing better and gave it to him, so therefore he deserves the win.
and as far as the Majic twinfin goes, 4 of the top 6 also were riding these "majical" boards, so maybe there is something to em eh smarta$$

Sorry, can't fade into obscurity while you're being so unhelpful.

Peto, you must be one of those slow people I tried to help, which bit of "well done Pykey" don't you understand? How do you blame a person for winning (or even losing)? As for my identity, do you know what "play the ball, not the man" means?

As for Newcastle, there's a few good sailors there, better than Pykey, but they're all second rate.

I don't want to put Pikey down cause he's done nothing wrong, quite the opposite, but since you lot are so argumentative let's examine this: when Pikey was at his peak years ago his most common result in the NSW rounds was to lose his first heat, though I think he was better than that, more of a mid fleeter I'd say. I don't recall him ever being among the placegetters. He certainly never looked like getting a mention at the Mambo back then. Then he goes kiting for years, then is off with injury for the last year, and it sounds like he was using borrowed gear. What am I missing? Has he put on an extraordinary late career improvement like I've never seen anyone do? Is he ANY better than he used to be? Is he even as good as he used to be? What maneuvers was he pulling off that the rest of you weren't? Or what was he doing better? How about McKercher, former world wave champ, how did he lose?
Dan, reading between the lines I suspect you don't agree with the judges, what does anyone else who was there think?

I suggest that all those who can't use their own name, or a recognisable version of it, when they are writing posts should be ignored. The Jetsam dude is obviously no one who's opinion should be taken at all seriously. If you can't put your name to a post you surely can't smack it when it counts.

What a surprise, not a single attempt at answering any of my questions, just a lot of childish name calling. I wonder what you're scared of

If you still can't manage that, how about explaining why you're all so upset over nothing.

P.S. I wouldn't normally question a person's orientation, and like everything else that you've said it's irrelevant here, but since several have seen fit to question mine, I can't help noticing how extremely ... precious you are towards each other. to you all.

ummmm.......so what exactly are you trying to achieve with your rhetoric jetty?

you mainly seem to make statements rather than pose questions.

all cool with me......but like jethro tull you seem to be living in the past.

whoops i lowered myself to childish innuendo.
