Thanks evryone. It was a pity there were no waves because it got pretty windy. Next year should be huge with a very famous windsurfer rumoured to be coming for the 30th anniversary, everyone should make the effort for old times I reckon.

That u tube posting is the best summary of this years MAMBO I've yet seen so thanks for that. I'll attempt to answer a few MAMBO queries.
We had two good windy days for wave sailing and yes the swell was about 1 inch at Main Beach. There was a north swell so the SUP riders found early waves at Pambula end of beach and anywhere else open to north swell.
Once the wind started to trickle in out went the wave sailors and numbers increased with the wind.
We don't move the whole event to tathra but we encourage what we call 'roving sessions".The SUP guys have twigged to this and moved around to find waves .A troop of kite surfers smashed the onshore at Short Point and Mat & Rohan Cudmore and tobes and a few crew hit Bournda to the north which in a strong nor'easter can be better as tathra This is MAMBO initiative..however all that sailed enjoyed that day as the wind was cranking 25 plus. Same with Saturdays nor'easter event though it didn't get as strong as Thursday was enjoyable and we were sailing the Merimbula "funnel" as Tathra and the Point were doggy.

The Saturday nor'easter made 20 to 25knots until the change hit..first 15 then 18 then 25knots and as this happened the wind waves jumped up and there was an epic session on the Bar almost to dark.

So to sum up two days strong wind with Saturday the best.Bit of a dribble on Sunday but not too exciting. There were 57 wave sailing entries,114 kites and 76 SUPs...and if you haven't been for a while the inclusion of SUP has enhanced the event and gives us something to watch while we eat our bacon egg rolls.
Next year is number 30 and we are calling on all past participants plus any new bloods to make it to the party.ALready many suspects are threatening to invade
