twin fins are like single fins except they have two fins. Probably cost twice as much because of it?

Hey Leech, what were the two things that twins are good for?
One was for finishing that top turn and the other was?

Riding a higher volume board without it getting too bouncy in strong winds. Keeps the nose down.

So from my own conclusion twins are good for...

1 Finishing top turns.
and
2 Using a higher volume board in stronger winds.

Anything else anyone?

A great way to get people to update and buy new boards!!

I think one thing about the twin fins (and I'm no expert here) is that Kauli Seadi destroyed everyone at Ponta Preta using a twinny, and they (competitiors and media) all put it down to the twin fin boards? Now either that is true or it isn't I have no idea? What if...... a twin fin board really suits someone's like Kauli Seadi's style and the conditions of Ponta Preta Big hollow cross-off-shore wave?? ........ or Maybe with the evolution of rocker lines and the short wide stubby boards the twin is the best configuration? I really don't know the answers?? But it might be worth finding out some of the asnswers before you go and spend the doe, or fi ya like risk taking and love your toys, just get one coz u wannit

so i read all of the articles and watched all of the vids and i still think the same.

interestingly all of the articles and all of the vids keep referring over and over to the shape of the boards being the big jump forward, not the fact that it has twin fins.

the only effect the twins provide is the lack of spinout.

interesting article

NO WAY! I thought the same too.
Does everyone think that when they see this board or is it only the smarter people noticing it?

i was thinking that the rails looked curved but firm...good for a top turn, there would definatley be a nice "V" on it aswelll......ALSO if you laid it flat on the sand, i'm sure there would be an impression of double concave....!!!

Late 80's plan shape combined with mid 1990's twin fins

looks like I was wrong when I said we've seen all this before, don't believe the hype, stick with singles

I read that Tabou will bring out a twin fin version of the Da Curve, called the Team Twin.

Look set to be in the same size and volumes as the single fin version of the Da Curve.

Didn't Josh Angulo win the 2007 Cape Verde comp and wasn't he on a single fin? Wasn't the looser on a twin fin that day?

Bluey,

get some raked fins goin - they will be a saviour in winter and probably minimal performance hit.

I was picking up a little bit today on my single as duchies - but the weed wasnt too deadly there.
