Got a look at the "09" boxers yesterday, one of our locals got hooked up with the first 5.0m and 5.4m from the naish guys, mad looking sails, it's good to see someone has taken a chance with black sail cloth, looks the goods...and they are remarkably light, i'll put a photo up later for you guys to have a look.
Ment to be having a look at the "09" Goya Wave boards in a few weeks, should be interesting.
It's amazing that the Windsurfing companies keep on suprising us with different gear every year, and making them better and lighter with the same strenght, it make the future of our sport look good.
I know the feeling. Great seeing new stuff. So hard not to replace the whole kit each year.....I nearly do anyway.
Maximum boom height looks pretty low on the Boxer? I realise you have + base height etc to consider, but still. Awesome looking sail though.
Hey thats my sail, as soon as I rigged it everyone wants to hold it getting dirt clogged in my mast base.
All the scabs come out when I get something new.
We just wanted to feel the power man, But some do get a bit keener than others when the new stuff arrives.. shame about the new mast base digging holes in the grass..
i bet your hoping we get this NEster we are ment to be getting this weekend so you can use your new toys..
whats with naish sails having such low boom cut outs???
i'm 5'9 and almost to the top on my forces...
has someone got s.m.s
Yea thought i would try something different this year plus I only need one mast with those sails. The sails feel so lite when rigged but havnt got them wet yet.
Im in the same boat, Ive got the NP flys, similar to the boxers I guess, smaller luff length 4 battens ect Definately powerful, but still feel really loose in your hands. I recon I could be using about .3of a mtr smaller sail than I was last year. Go well with the twinnies too.
Hey Dan, have you got any photo's of the fly's? they look good on the pryde site, but they don't sit still long enough for a good look.
Yeah interesting there are only 4 battons.More grunt i guess.Weird angles on the leech though.Looks like they where whacked together with offcuts.I have had boxers before and loved em.Still have a 5.8 thats had every panel replaced.2004 models ,before the egg shape.Would love to test the new ones...
Pretty sure the 4 batten set up is to make them softer, less locked in if you get what i mean, easier to depower on the wave, the new Pryde fly's are the same 4 batten configuration, it also reduces rig weight, i rigged up the new serverne wave sails last week and they are incredibly light, it's amazing how light the new gear is getting.. yer the leach panels are a bit strange looking..
Kauli is that you behind that sail?
no but seriously they look pretty good Dan, i actually like the look of the JP boards in green and gold. the sails look simple and light..
nah not kauli, just my midget son, I got a couple of shots of the board, Ill try and get them up soon
