Na I have been off the water lately as I had a pterygium removed from my eye. So I have these new sails sitting there and cant use them. Should be back on the water in a couple of weeks.

Will be good to catch up if you get up here.
As for the sails, I'm always keen to try out any new sail.
I got to try some of my bro's new naish wave sails which were very nice... along with a mates new north and a gaastra number.
I'm not that one eyed (sorry for the bad pun) when it comes to sails... I just know what I like and I like what I know !
Always up for trying out a new sail !

Got a look at the Brand New Goya Wave 84 on monday, here are some photo's, this board looks pretty hot, the graphics are typical Goya but the shape looks great especially for east coast conditions, a bit wider through the tail for our cross-on spots and heaps of rocker for the coming back in on the fun bits..

speaking of new gear... Just got a price for the '09 Evo 100 L.

Wood $2400 (7.4 kg)
Wood/ Carbon $2800 (6.5 kg)

ouch... this makes the JPs look like cheap boards. Makes me wonder how much the extra kilo is really worth the extra $400. Perhaps it would easier to get out a hacksaw and take off 1 kilo from the front of the wood construction board ;-)

I doubt I'd ever be able to get into your league to be honest... perhaps if I live of water for the rest of my life and run a marathon every day...

... bummer when you are 6 foot 4.

oopps... were you talking about the board weight?

yea, the board weight. The other is probably a lost cause.

Hey Stehsegler... you realise with a full esky sitting between us on the drive north we're going to have pretty darn close to a quarter of a tonne... and that's just across the front seats and not counting all the sailing kit in the back
You reckon the one tonner is going to be big enough

As for a board big enough to float you... put your faith in the lord, he loves you.
It says it right there on the bottom of your new happy clapper board !

Hey Steyseglar
you could save $500 by buying last years 100ltr as the shape is unchanged from 08 to 09.
