More wind on the way this weekend, forecast is for up to 40 knots, this is good but it's bring with it massive surf up to 5m and for us east coasters know that will be nasty and heavy, no wavesailing this weekend, back to the flat water anyone going to attempt to get a wave?

thought you were leaving this weekend???????

that would have been typical, no wind for weeks, then blows its tits off as you drive out of the state

Dan our beaches are useless in a big southerly swell, Ma suggested a drive down to Toowoon, sounds like a good idea...

Neither the swell or wind has kicked here in the Gong yet, been light SW most of the day. Had all the gear in the car at work hoping it might pump this arvo. Oh well early morning it is!

PC surely you guys have somewhere to sail between terrigal and birubi, there are heaps of beaches. Might be a good time to go in search of a new spot??

Yer toowoon is still sailable in a s/sw not as good as a southerly, you can sail on the inside, you kinda sail parallel to the sand up into the corner, the swell wraps around if it's big..this is a picture of Ma sailing early winter, it's got heaps of west in it this day.

Don't worry.... 2 months to go and Lancelin thru to Geraldton will go off 3x a week minimum. This will be a good good season to be remembered for many years.
Worry not.

Geez, the bureau is now going for 50-60 knots in the morning. P.C I think Toowoon may get it even if it has some west in it.
Bloody working tomorrow.
Cheers

Windang no good. Not worth the drive. I'm going to the snow, gonna miss it again, oh well have to go carve some knee deep powder instead.

After getting pounded in the shore for an hour I managed to get out the back at Windang.
Skeletor, Spaceman and one other had been snaffling some silky smooth logo high waves all that time driving me insane with jealousy. It was worth the perserverance, epic cross off wavesailing can't wait to sail that place again...

Yeah it sure was difficult to get out through that shore break, just had to wait and wait for an opening. I took out a bigger board than I would have liked because I thought on my small board i'd be pushing my luck getting out. The waves were that clean though that it was sweet. I'm 'winter fit' atm and was rooted, called it a day early. I saw when I was packing up it seemed to pick up a bit more swell wise? Looked like some monsters coming through. When it's on at Windang it's on :D

Since I managed to trash another sail before getting out, I was able to take some pics and video. Unfortunately it was only on a small camera so not very hi quality but will give a view of how epic it is there. Will post up soon!
