there are foam pool tiles @ clark rubber, if you want cheap.. as far as I can tell its the same stuff as production boards 'EVA' .. There are a few different densities I bought the hard, but medium would be better.. they are pretty thick so a bit of imagination is needed to get them to the right shape..(edit* by this stage you will probably have zero imagination and zero patience so they might look less than spectacular)

here are my last ones,

$10 for a tile that you can cut at least 4 padz out of, and they sell contact adhesive at clark aswell..

I used a router, After I finished I realised it was a variable speed router and I had it on the lowest speed.. So I made it a lot harder and 'drunker' than it needed to be... I also thinned the pads out with a belt sander.. It's really easy to shape, especially helpful if you put heel gutters under the padz... (or heel bumps under production board padz that are to thin, just peel back teh old padz and glue some extra foam under the heels and fold back the original padz)

Also before you put the pads down, tape one side of a large sheet of paper on the board and use it to mark the screw holes for the straps..

One of the tips that I learnt from the boardlady website was to use 'brads' to put in the footstrap holes and then place the pad on top. The brads (or nails for anyone that doesn't use a small nail gun) stick in the pad and mark where to cut the hole. I also learnt that a wad punch is a great way to cut these holes... after I already made a mess cutting them another way.

I second that! with the great exchange rate these are a great pad. Better than the slippery local ones which sell for $65 a set.

Hoop also has some nice looking pads made up for his boards you could pm him.
