Generally us windsurfers are pretty honest, sharing and caring type people when it comes to returning items left behind on a beach in our haste to hit the water. At least when it comes to the big stuff. But after losing 3 screwdrivers this summer (Pelican point and Melville) I think this principle doesn't extend to the small stuff. OK, it's not the value of the item but the inconvenience.

My tip is - if you see something on the beach. Just leave it there as the person will remember it when they go to pack up to go home and see it sitting in the spot they left it. Pocketing it is not cool!

Yeah,I left my winch last month on the grass at Melville and someone left a message on the board, though I keep forgetting to ring them. Thanks for that Been since being using my hook to pull the downhaul and its not good for my lower back. Peli-Pt should have a notice board too, where you can leave small items.

In my experience screwdrivers are left to be recovered - sometimes thoughtful people move then to a more obvious place nearby so you are more likely to see them - like on top of a nearby bollard. Sorry you lost yours.

You sure you still got that?
I found a hydra-pulla about the same time and in the same place, and only lost it myself about a month ago. (left it on the bumper after already locking the boot, then driving off later having forgotten about it)

If you are looking for tools on the beach at Pelican Point - walk about 100m east. You will find plenty of them.

The way the wind on the river has been of late,I'm thinking of becoming a tool. Least I'd stand more of a chance of planing.

Maybe there is something in this climate change after all. I remember 10-15 years back of only owning a 5.2m Gaastra race sail and being powered up most days. This summer so far has been diabolical.

??? Maybe try the coast instead of the river. I've had a great summer of sailing so far at safety bay

Is no one going to say it?
If you don't want to lose your tools, don't leave them on the beach!!!

Yeah, that's helpful! I'm working on it.

Was going to try Safety Bay tomorrow. Is the spot where they're dredging still the go or try elsewhere?

The pond is still sailable and with the high tide in the arvo the speed stripp can be crossed easily.
You could also try Carlisle St.

Carlisle st has a boat ramp at the end of it. Follow Stus' map.

Well if you lot keep leaving your tools on the beach they are bound to wander off, but I can't figure out why you need to take a tool with you, is some buddy safety we haven't heard of?

If you can't find the water at the end of Carlisle St maybe the river is your best option
