Safety bay was a bit gusty, 5.8 was almost too much

but I suspect a 4.2 would also have been fine.

No way 35kn - Gero got that.

Lano had 25 - 30 maybe (4.5 to 5.0 for most guys)

Perth peaked at 25kn about 4:30pm, Swanbourne barely hit 30 (peak all afternoon)

Kiters talking it up again. It was 25-30.
Solid 35 is waaay different.

Of course it would be windier in Gero, but after sundown at woodies it was blowing pretty hard... certainly windier than 25knots from 4-7pm :)

Got off the water at Woodies around 6:30 unable to hang on to my 4.2 (or keep my board on the water), was only getting windier.

At one stage (5 pm) there were more windsurfers on the water than kiters.

Some amazing freestyle sailors down there these days (That'd be Al and his mates i'd assume)

Definitley 30 knots, thanks Huey

It basically cleared the water at 6pm at Woodies, was a solid 30knots and then went higher.

I had a bad day on my 5.7m at Melville,it was too much. Peaking close to 30 knots. Weed there is real bad and not just at the sandbank. Got catapulted heading across the river in shallows about 100 metres from the shore. Becoming a dangerous place to sail Melville without a weed fin.

Like I said I don't see 35kn there (one gust at sundown.)

When everyone was on the water (ie: pre-6pm) it was 25-32kn with rare gusts to almost 35. The vast majority of the time was about high 20's to 30kn

It was damn windy BUT that is not the same as a day with continuous 35kn which is implied by the kite thread (as usual). Kite sizes at Corro's vs kite sizes at Woodies would tell the story and show up the 'claimers' (as usual)

Lano was great with only few out by mid arvo. Some nice, largish smooth faces coming through and perfect on a 4.7.

Really very enjoyable ......... until I got caught in the rinse cycle and spent the next hour ++ swimming my gear back to shore with the broken mast and torn sail dragging behind me. The swim was made a little easier by the wave reform getting me across the first reef section without having to drag across it.

The conversation on the beach with Mark Aus about an hour before I broke my mast was along the lines of "how hard it was to see anyone in trouble in the low arvo sun with plenty of wind and swell" !! Well it is 'cos no-one saw me until I dragged my sorry and tired ass back up to the grassed area

Anyway the sail's in for a repair (or replacement if it's too exxy) but now I'm in the market for a 400 KA rdm 100% bottom section if anyone has broken the top section

At least now I know I'm not as unfit as I thought I was -- although there are quite a few aches especially where my right leg cramped up within a 100 metres of shore......
