92 L JP quad
3 piece skinny ezzy mast 400/430
Chinook boom
5.2 & 5.7 severne swat sails
6'6 Byrne thruster surfboard
Board travel bags

No sailing for me down south, bummer. Please call Baz on ######## if found cheers and happy new year.

We should ask Laurie to create a sticky thread on stolen gear, description, board serial numbers etc.
It could provide the shop owners and prospective buyers a place to check before they buy, and hopefully put the thieves off.

I am interested to see he talks about Reg getting in JP boards. That is not like the usual dude who breaks into cars and steals whatever

The thief is obviously into watersports and that is a concern. When caught please OUT HIM for all of us.

this reminds me of a friends story. Many years ago he spend 3 months over winter in Tarifa. He had a friend from Germany come down to visit over Christmas. On the second last night his friends custom board was stolen from the roof of their motorhome. It was near new and the only one picked from about 6 boards all in bags.

They reported it to police but no success in retrieving the board. About 5 weeks later my friend was having breakfast in a cafe in town when this guy walks up and asks if he is interested in buying a used near new custom board. Surprise surprise it was the very same board that had been stolen several weeks ago. Let's just say he didn't bother calling the police... I'll let your imagination run wild as to what happened next.

Good luck Bipolarbaz! I hope you get your gear back.

All excitement from the start by ol Bipolarbaz
Since then, anybody else notice ol Bipolarbaz hasnt said a bloody thing, no updates, no thanks no bloody zilch!!!! Very very strange indeed
The main man watching and keen, is Bertie who should be thanked for his diligent on keeping the matter on the front burner.
So lo mate Bipolarbaz be in cahoots with the seller.....maybe.....? and just monitoring the level of scrutiny til it blows over, but up some crap contact details then make a quick buck when the heats off?

Just to put an end to all doubt. Bipolarbaz is my mate I windsurf with regularly and he's pissed about getting his stuff ripped off. He has not been commenting on here due to the fact it is in police hands and Im sure he has thanked bertie for his efforts in their communications. Baz is a good bloke and it is not through disrespect that he has not been communicating with the concerned seabreeze community.

Fingers crossed this new lot of leads is enough for the police to actually do something!... like the last lot wasn't. If not... we're all ****ed! And think I may take up theft as a profession myself seems like a sweet gig I would even be eligible for centerlink as well.
Jokes aside, fingers crossed this ****er goes down.

Heres a photo of baz on the stolen kit while on the last islands trip!

Baby come back, any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Baby come back, you can blame it all on me
I was wrong, and I just can't live without you

OK here's the latest. I am a real person (just one of me) and don't suffer from schizophrenia . Thanks to the help from the windsurfing community my gear has been seized, an arrest has been made and evidently some charges laid... Due to a gag order I couldn't ellaborate any early as a police investigation was in progress and I didn't want to spook this noob and compromise the sting.

Big thanks again to the "Doctor", I might have to drop in for a beer on the way down.

Happy sailing

Awesom Baz!!!

Suck **** you thieving prick!! I hope you have fun reading this and spread the word to ya thieving mates dont bother stealing surfing or windsurfing gear you will never b able to sell it and you WILL get caught. While Im at it anyone thinking or receiving stolen gear chances are someone just going to walk up and punch you in the face the minute you get the gear out and take it back. Its a small world and the windsurfing community don't put up with this ****!

late on this thread, great news!!

tracking offenders via social media is not always straight forward & the thief is typically not
the person who lists items for sale. Seems reasonable Police response in this case. It's a big
concern that the (alleged) thief appears to have targeted the gear.

Obelisk - HWP are a special breed of Police, regardless of which state you are in but always
be extra polite to them, it could save you $$ & potentially getting capsicum sprayed or hit
with the Taser @ 50, 000 volts if you want to roll the dice

In this case, and apology is in order. Obviously they were on the case.

I was never disrespectful to a policeman , but it's easy to get cynical when people break into your car or your house , and all you get from the police is the claim number over the phone to give to the insurance company.

But worse experience is me working abroad, and a number of thieves breaking up my front door, while my teenage daughter i hiding in the closed scared to death. They couldn't break in, but have seriously damaged the door. As my wife got home and called the police they told her to lock up as thy may come back. So you now have 2 scared girls in the house and the police showed up 2 hours later to write the report.

So, I have no doubts that the foot soldiers are working hard, and doing what they ere told to do, but someone is setting priorities for them, and sometimes these suck.

(BTW , I don't know what HWP stands for. )
