Hi,
I am heading to Geraldton 25th to 29th and again 1st to 5th. I am traveling alone but I would feel safer with a sailing buddy. I am intermediate level thinking I will sail my big gear for an hour or so in the morning off St Georges and then go to Coro with my wave gear in the afternoon.
I would feel a lot safer if anyone out there wanted to join me up there especially at Coro in the afternoons.
Cheers
Everytime I've been there over New Years it's been stinking hot and no wind
Don't stress it there will be plenty of people sailing there, you won't be by yourself
Enjoy
Don't hesitate to make the venture up if you can't find a buddy. Like most places, we windsurfers always keep an eye out for each other. One day when I was out at Coro, my mast foot disconnected in the surf (my own fault, I was in too much of a rush to hit the water and I did not tighten it properly. What a muppet!) and I was assisted very quickly by none other than Mr Jaeger Stone himself.
Don't know if you've sailed Coro before but the waves are gentle, crumbling waves. Even when it is above head height they will generally wash over you and your gear. They waves progress in height as you head out so will need to be a fair way out before you hit the big stuff. Ideal location for an intro into waves.
If you see a white Suzuki 4wd in the car park or a muppet on a green & yellow ezzy sail, face planting his push loops, come and say g'day. Enjoy!
I too am heading up on my own. I arrive on Jan 20th for 3 weeks and am going to drive up and do Lano and Gero. I will drop you a pm
I think I was a bit hasty. I think you mean Dec/Jan. If so ignore the pm as I am a month out
I'll be heading up there around those time but my travel dates will be more weather dependent.
Like the others said, the windsurfing community is pretty friendly and there wont be a shortage of peeps sailing at Corro's or Lancelin.
If i'm up there i'l probably be in a blue Delica with a Naish sticker on the front of it.
Come and say hi and grab a cold beer.
I counted 38 poleys out at Corros on Thursday and it was pretty lame wind. So there will be plenty of people around, and if something goes wrong more than a few poleys have been grateful for a free tow in from a kiter.

Isn't it many of your mob who say windsurfers are an endangered species / been cancelled / blah blah....
