Went down to look at Pelican Point as the storm came through. A couple of brave souls were having a go. It was pretty wild.
yha and hard work too sweet it was cool first time out after six weeks off
yesterday first time on a 8.6 , first time on a sail with cams
and today powered up on a 5.0 happy hurts like hell but wow.
I should have laughed it of after I realised heavy breathing getting into the wet suit, but no. Second chance to call it quits after adjusting the harness out, but again laughed off with the excuse "too much pizza and beer during winter". Third chance to call it a day after struggling through the sea weed and the shore break, but onwards we charge. I'd already rigged up with as much downhaul and outhual as I could muster on a 4.2 and was committed. No one else out so fairly cautious. I should have gone down to the river to ease myself back into it after having winter off, however time too short for the drive down.
The result - absolutely humilated by mother nature in my poor physical condition.
But anyway, had a few runs and certainly got wet. More jump than bump and the jump wasn't by choice. Hanging out for the warm and consistant sea breeze.
Anyone keen for a sail during summer at my normal locale - quinns rocks, I'd appreciate the company. Can promise you grass, showers and limited crowds with added bonus of if the swell is up, the outer reef works. Better spot than pinnaroo as not as choppy (but don't bring your slalom board).
Till then
I had to work but checked out a few spots: G/Head massive massive waves and messy as.
Jurien a good B&J spot today!
Cervantes speed run: pumping!!!! Wish I could have done some runs there... aahh who am I kidding, haven't been on slalom gear for 6yrs and even then I was slow
I was up at Lano.Couldn't sail untill about 12.30 when it settled down to about 30-40 knots!!.Cupla nice bombs comming through.Maxed on a 4.5 in big swell when i'm rusty as sh1te was truely testing...Was a fun sesh.
