If a windsurfer tells you they are trying to lower their planning threshold
are they
a. Going on a diet
b. Dropping the kids off at the pool
c. Buying bigger kit
I thought it ment that they are finally going to start foiling.
But foiling is not planing right?
I've done a, b and c. Seems like a trick question, so I can't think of an answer yet.
65kg on 165ltr 92 wide board, if there is wind, I'm planing.

Man that's light. I feel better now when I struggle at 94kg.
And to answer the original question I do a, b, and c and throw on the foil for the light days

Ya. Sucks for learning to hold gear down in moderate wind but good for getting going.
I can't claim superior self discipline in loosing weight. It just happened.
Had a gut issue where I dropped lots of kids off at the pool, followed by a mushroom induced experience that led me to cease booze, ice cream, and start windsurfing.
Mate. Lucky being light. My 15 yo son is same weight, planes in 12knots with a 5.6 s1 and 110lt freestyle board. His daily driver is 81lt and 4.8m.
envy from me
a. no, .....because beer
b. yes, ....because beer
c. at 100+kg, the obvious choice
Looks like a good answer to me. Great photo!
