After 3 years of not working the danish weed spot finally delivers again and very early in the season. I am so excited for this year and hoping to break some speed records if we get proper wind

Nup, not the BEST gybe spot, but equal to it.
Our best gybers are trying for 30kt alphas at Lilacs, and are getting very close.
Woody's alpha was 29.384 which is 4th fastest in GPSTC

I think it just takes a while to re-program brains from thinking "unsailable due to weed" to "absolute speed and jibing heaven". I still remember how I was amazed that Coodanup could be sailed at all even after sailing there half a dozen times. Hope the weeds come back this year .. and that the airlines make some tickets available for miles.

I'm jealous! unfortunately our weed has disappeared, for Winter, hopefully it will be back in Spring.
Looks like you have a big area of flat, and the weed looks nice, not too draggy or abrasive.

We were 4 windsurfers that day. I was the youngest at 44 years S?ren is 52, the fastest guy was Hans 70 years old and then there was a freerider at 75
. The spot is very famous among kiters so no secret. And I have posted videos about it before.

I knew about Kloster before, knew it was VERY shallow requiring short fins, but did not know it is a weed spot.
Probably a bit like my home spot Strand Horst, which also has best conditions in september when the weed is maximum length and damping the chop.
So the spot did not work for 3 years? Why not? Water pollution due to farming, or?

One winter the shallows were frozen solid and then the ice moved ripping everything out of the bottom. That is one of the explanations. Another is a chance in how much saltwater they allow in from the sea. I tried Strand Horst in Easter it was a fun place to sail, but no weed at that point in time.

There is a downside though, you can get thoroughly spoilt by yjr smooth and not enjoy sailing anywhere else.

Yes, weed at Strand Horst dies off in late autumn, and grows back in end spring (end of may).
Well here it's more complicated than that. If the weed is a few centimetres below the surface, you can use a fin that's 40deg at the base but 60deg at the tip. If the weed is thick all the way to the surface a 55deg fin is better. If the weed is thin a 45 deg is possible.
Also if weed is thick, a low aspect design like a delta, is probably better. There's less depth in the weed, so less drag.
Also there's a theory that thick weed can act a bit like an end plate, reducing tip vortex.
