I am working towards building a suit of sails for myself. Anyone know a source for solid round tapered battens like used in most wave sails. Bainbridge sells the stock at a fair price but how are they tapered? Anyone have a source for batten ends in bulk?
Thanks!
Sailworks would be the best bet......
If you want them solid I sure you could just grind them down and make your own taper.

Thanks mate, I saw that on sailwork's site. I can get the round stock through the loft I work at via Bainbridge. No one seems to sell them tapered unless it's a single batten for a specific sail. Should I set up a ramp type router or sanding jig? Sander sounds safer but how to not sand the ramp? Router jig so long as I can really secure the round stock? I can vizualize the programing aproach for a CNC router but for sure would need to build and test fixtures.
Years ago when I made my own windsurfing sails I bought battens from Robichaud Batten Systems (RBS) www.rbsbattens.com/
